Always incorporate your Cat Stretch to let the spine relax into flexion and extension
warm up and cool down. Find yourself in a quarterpedic position with your hands right
underneath your shoulders, knees in line with the hips, and we're going to practice. We're
going to exhale from navel to spine, take our chin towards our chest, keep your toes
relaxed, and inhale an extension and release like you got that string pulling your head
in the opposite direction of the feet. Exhale, round in, maintain that plain of movement
that line with the knees and the hips and the just rest in the shoulders. Don't let
that move, you want to work through the spine, flat, relax. Exhale, push all the air out,
navel to spine, try to keep that pelvis pointed out towards the ceiling and release in the
flat back. Not everybody will get into flat back position. Some people might still have
a slight curve but use your natural pelvic positioning to roll in and out of spinal flexion
and extension for Cat.
