Hey my Sweet Vs, it's The Sweetest Vegan here.
Today on the show we will be making this yummy, heartwarming Confederate Bean Soup here we go.
Confederate Bean Soup Recipe - Southern Queen of Vegan Cuisine 9/328
To start our soup, we are going to add a little bit vegetable oil to the bottom of a large pot.
Toss in your chopped veggie sausage, chopped onion, and chopped bell pepper.
Saute them until the veggie sausage has browned on each side and the onions and bell pepper are soft.
Now we are going to add in one can of baked beans, stir that together, and once it has all come up to a high heat,
we are going to make it soup by adding in soy creamer.
May I make a disclaimer by saying this is not my thoughts, this is Paula Deen's thoughts.
She used half and half, but we do not really have that in the vegan world so I used soy creamer.
Umm, so now we have our soup. Let's taste it.
There is nothing bad to say about this dish. It was actually quit scrumditilyumcious.
I just don't see why it needed to be a soup or a recipe unto itself,
because here in the south, we make baked beans with stuff in it all the time.
You know? hot dogs, ground beef, bacon. Whatever you want to put in your baked beans, vegetables.
You just put it in there and you still call it baked beans.
So we put in the vegan sausage, the bell pepper, and the onions, and it was really good.
My grandmother and my sister really liked it as well, but it was still just like baked beans.
It was nothing extraordinary about it. I guess because we eat baked beans all the time.
Like at least twice a week.
