Today we're going for oritang also known as Korean duck stew. Yum yum!
We are at the restaurant today and we are trying a new dish - it is a duck soup oritang.
Whenever we order a Korean soup or stew it always comes with a little bit of rice. It
And before we try the duck soup we have a lovely assortment of side dishes to try including
this one.
Here comes the soup. Gamsahamnida (thank you in Korean).
Thoughts on the duck? It tastes quite good - it's definitely a chewier fattier kind of
meat. Lean cuts of meat or something. It's pretty good.
In Korea when you want to know if you're going to be having a soup or a stew there are several
variations of the word: Guk, tang and there is jjigae. Toady we're having the Tang and
from my experience Tang usually generally means that it is more of a thick base.
Our initial impression is that soup is kind of large kind of like a Korean hangover soup.
Ori dishes, including the oritang that we just had is a specialty of the Gyeonggi province
where we are situated right now.
