Hello, I'm Shahram Forutan.
World Champion in Powerlifting.
Todays topic is cardio for Powerlifting.
Cardio in Powerlifting is important
to balance out working with heavy weights
by training your cardiovascular system.
You should at least do cardio 2-3 times a week
What I did additionally was driving with a bike outside
no matter how cold or warm it was.
For example from home to work
because it's not only cardio training but you also learn to keep going no matter what.
If you are exhausted you have to reach your workplace anyway.
Or reach home later.
You fight no matter what to reach your place in time.
It's important to learn not to give up in powerlifting
trying to fight with all your power.
Thats why its called 'POWER'-lifting.
While giving everything on the bike ride you also train your cardiovascular system.
So what I generally recommend as cardio is a bike.
Thats what I personally prefer.
You can do it in your gym or with a real bike how I mentioned.
Do it 30 to 45 Minutes
with a mid level of difficulty.
Not super easy but also not super difficult
so you can constantly keep going on the same level.
While doing it your muscles should burn a little
and your cardiovascular system (heart) should work too.
Thats what I personally recommend and always did for my success.
