Hi guys, really quickly today I wanted to talk about saving money while at university.
Most of you watching this will be starting university soon so I thought I'd give you
my top tips on managing your own money.
First thing I wanted to talk about is cooking while at university; most of you will be new
to most of you so managing your cooking is important because when you are hungry you
tend to buy more food.
Try and work out how much you will be spending and also for per meal, per week or per month.
That way you can manage money easily.
The second thing is when you do go shopping most people will tell you to go for the basics
and value stuff; they are quite low quality food no matter how you work it out. I'd say
go straight for the brands but eat less of it, because if you plan your meals out then
you can eat exactly what you plan to eat, therefore less of it. If you know exactly
what you are going to get then you can spend money on quality rather than quantity.
If you do cook try and cook for two days, for example I would cook on Monday for Tuesday
as well, and Wednesday for Thursday etc.
Even though is very tempting to spend it all, don't spend all your loan when it comes in,
put a bit of money on the side so that at the end of term if you want to go out partying
or want to buy something, you can do so; instead of spending it all at the start and then you
got nothing at the end.
Thank you very much for watching I hope you enjoyed my tips for saving money.
