Today I am gonna save your life.

i am gonna teach you how to save your own life.
we are making omelettes.
imagine that.
I's weeknight, and in your fridge a few dying vegetables are fighting with some sad overcooked
pieces of meat.
But, To brigthen the picture.
All you need is a hug.
In fact, all you need is some leftovers, a few eggs and a frying pan.
This is the life saving leftovers omelettes.
Tonight all you'll need is some leftovers, eggs and a pan.
You get it. We are making Omeletts.
Not an omlet recipe, no, Omelettes.
You will learn it once, but afterwards, you'll have a mighty solution forever.
Let's make it clear : cooking an omelette isn't that hard.
I you follow only these little tips,
Yours will be totally fine and next time even better and so on and so on...
in this video we will cover the basics, and then use it to turn some leftovers into brillant
dishes.
oh ? You already know how to make an omelette ? perfect !
you can skip that part right here.
(fancy pants)
ok humble guys, The base is always the same :
You need a pan. non stick pan is good .. otherwise you'll probably end up eating in the pan.
You also need 3 eggs. That's the standard, so... you coud use 2 or 4 as on this channel
we tend not to respect any standards at all.
Finally you need a fat agent : all kinds of oil, butter or bacon fat....
Grab a spatula. or a wooden spoon.
And Strongly whisk the eggs in a bowl with a pinch of salt and a pinch of pepper.
TIP NUMBER 1
The heat should be on medium high, meaning 4 out of 6 if you're shy but definitely 5
out of 6 when you'll be more confident.
A bit of oil and Pour the whisked eggs in the frying pan,
The sound you should be hearing.
TIP NUMBER 2
Use the spatula to bring the edges towards the center
We are creating curds, i mean a solid structure in the pan that will transfer heat from the
bottom to the liquid.
Folding the omelette on itself is optionnal, But I agree, it looks cool and posh so we'll
do it.
When it's not liquid anymore, but still very moist, tilt the pan.
Spatula underneath and fold.
Press it down so that it takes the shape of the pan.
A few seconds more and remove it from the heat.
Don't slide it in a plate, flip it over in a plate to reveal the golden side.
Gorgeous every time.
Now My friend, You now have a killer technique unlike the fools who clicked on that "skip"
button.
Time for good examples.
And I am offering you not one, but three.
Here I got some leftovers from my fridge.
Remember to Get the cold leftovers out of the fridge half an hour before cooking.
I must confess, Theses are not real leftovers.
I made them look like so.
Yeah but that's the cinema.
You'll get to it.
First example.
Mushrooms or ham leftovers will make a comforting countryside omelette.
Making it normally, and Just add some Bacon bits, or some mush rooms in the pan when you
got those curds.
Countryside omelette done. Delicious. What did you expect ? It's simple I told you.
Second example.
Potato leftovers will turn it into a spanish style tortilla.
Si cabron.
Chop the potatoes not too thick and If you got an onion, good, chop it also.
Olive Oil goes in the pan, some garlic and an onion,
and a few minutes later drop the potatoes.
We are frying them.
And a few minutes later, you'll have to flip it over using a plate.
We have to cook both sides.
A beautiful tortilla de patata as known as a spanish omelette.
Third and last example.
Green leftovers like leeks, zucchini, carrots
will make a guilt free, italian frittata omelette.
Just drop them in when you got the curds, along with a good gratting of cheese,
parmesan for example.
No need to flip this one, but you can pop it in the oven
for a few minutes if you wanna gratinate.
This is a great way of eating greens with a golden and crispy, italian frittata omelet.
Well that's it guys
Just Remember omelettes are fast, cheap and they are a killer way of dealing with leftovers.
Plus, you've just become a better cook.
