Hi my name is Dan Sanders and I am the executive chef for Globe Bistro and Earth restaurant.
Ever since I was growing up
my family had their own gardens and it was all about
using whatever we had that was grown on the property, so now that we're
the whole local movements going in and getting much larger
whenever we're making a menu, it's what's in season that time of year, we just kind of look to our farmers
and see what's available
and what they have
we use the best of the product that is currently available.
The Licious programs been a great success with us.
The licious kind of helps bring people out. They can come out,
get a full dinner, at a great price and
still have a great experience, and for the restaurant
it just boosts up business, it's beneficial for everybody.
Toronto is a great city because there's so many
great restaurants doing new food in the city
bringing new ideas to the table that constantly keeps everyone as chefs just evolving in
Toronto's been a large part of the local food movement
having a bunch a restaurants in the city that are competitive and doing different food all the time
keeps everyone interested in trying to do different stuff all the time.
