Down dog is really a great way to lengthen out through your spine. Gina is going to love
this because I'm going to give her an assisted down dog. So Gina is going to come on down
to her hands and knees in tabletop position. She's going to make sure that her shoulders
track right over her wrists. The wrists creases are going to point to the front of the mat.
Good. Her knees are hip width distance apart right right underneath her hips. She's going
to curl her toes under. Inhale in and then lift her head just a little and as she exhales
she's going to lift her knees and press back into her down dog. It's an inverted V pose.
So you want to see this nice inverted V. Good. Now you want to widen through the shoulders.
Good. And you really want to press into your hands. Press into your thumbs and your forefingers,
just like if you're going to squish your mat together in between and then you can feel
the length as it travels all the way up the arms through the armpits and then all the
way down to her tail bone. Now I'm going to come right in here and just place my hands
on her sacrum and I'm going to press not necessarily down, but kind of a little lift and up so
it lengthens out through her spine. How is that Gina? Good. Good it's going to feel really
great.
