We're a massive company, with global reach.
But at our heart, it's all about one thing: connecting people to the things they love.
One of the things I've loved the most is the amazingly diverse and talented group of people I work with at Telstra.
Everyday I learn something different.
I like the fact that they're the smartest people in my industry,
and I love that we have a great time, and I like people who like to challenge and do interesting stuff, so...
it's an amazing part of working at Telstra.
You know, from senior management to my colleagues, everyone is treated equally,
and I think that's really important.
I've learned a lot from people I've worked with over the years.
Yeah, Telstra has an amazing array of people that work within the organisation,
the diversity within the organisation.
It's special when you work on a project, in a particular project, you work with different parts of the business;
Retail, Telstra Digital, Online. Sometimes, also, you have to work with vendors as well, so non-Telstra,
but that environment that we create in here is actually a very collaborative environment.
Yeah, there's so many people working for Telstra, over 40,000 employees,
so you get to meet new people everyday, so every day is different.
When I work at Telstra, I see a lot of people that I enjoy working with.
Everybody's inclusive, they ask your opinions, and on a day to day basis
there's brainstorming sessions that really empower each individual to provide their ideas
for innovating and improving processes. It really gives you a sense of belonging.
Although we do have a large organisation, you do feel like you're in a real team environment
where we actually care about our staff.
I can't think of a working environment that I've worked in where no one would let someone fall over.
The support is there, everyone is there to back each other
and the greatest thing is that everyone brings their own unique set of skills and expertise which is really highly valued in our team.
I'd say it's very supportive. Maybe I've been lucky, but a very supportive work environment as well
so, very much a feeling of pulling in the same direction,
trying to do what's right as a team as opposed to right for the individual
so I've found that refreshing compared to some other organisations that I've been at.
Really motivating, fun to work with,
we have a couple of... like, a good example is whenever I have, you know, a bit of an unpleasant experience,
I always have my team to lift me up, and they're my friends outside of work as well.
From working around in different departments, I've actually been exposed to a lot of people, in various different fields,
so it's great to actually make a lot of networking opportunities.
It's great to work with a lot of experts in their fields, so, when I've moved on to new roles,
I've actually got some people I can call upon to gain their knowledge and insights and I've got those long lasting business relationships.
To be honest, actually when I first came across an opportunity at Telstra
I wasn't sure if I'd find it a bit daggy to work here.
I had worked around Telstra in other professional services companies
but when I arrived on a contract, I was overwhelmed by the passion, the energy,
how smart and clever and committed people were to this organisation,
and that absolutely got me across the line to convert to permanent.
And it's so nice that everyone's so passionate and driven, all working towards the same thing.
There's a common mission and goal, and we really all are striving to make a difference.
I've been with Telstra for 20 years now, in fact I'm celebrating it this month,
and I think every time I come into work, it's the people that make that difference.
Come and explore a career at Telstra, and connect with what you love.
