Hi there I'm Ellie Savoy
of Diet Free and Healthy where we show you how you can create a body
and a life that you love to live in and with deprivation
rules and restrictions today I'm going to show you
how to prepare ginger without peeling it so you can use this in some of your
favorite recipes
ginger is a very wonderful item to have on hand
because it's full of antioxidants and it's a wonderful
anti-inflammatory so it really helps with so many
ailments such as digestive issues stomach issues
colds and flus and rather than just
running for a pill or something to
make you feel better I really encourage you to start thinking of food
as your medicine cabinet rather than just
as I say running to use something else so basically i've cut off about a 2 inch
piece here from the
roots and you take a fine meshed greater
and you just grate away with the skin on it
and of course whatever your recipe requires
is you just sort of- its trial and error the more you do this the
more you'll know just how much you actually need
so it's a wonderful way to get the kids involved
as well. Maybe not with a grating part but in a minute I'm gonna show you
how you actually get that juice
and this is probably something that they would really enjoy to do with as well
so for demonstration purposes today I'm just gonna stick with this much
and you basically just wipe it down with your fingers
and get it all into a
into a pile you take the palm of your hand
and put everything in there like that
grab a bowl and just basically
squeeze away it's a bit messy that's why I think the kids would love it
and so there you have your juice without peeling and cutting
and it's just a lot of fun so
