Five Misconceptions about the Texas Project Delivery Framework
Number one.
The Framework is set in stone. It cannot be changed.
In reality is there is a change advisory process to enable you to recommend
changes for your agency's specific needs.
Number two.
Framework is just another project management methodology.
Actually, the Framework is a tool set for executing any project management methodology
your agency chooses.
For example Agile, or Waterfall.
Number three.
Framework deliverables are just documents.
The deliverables are documentation of actual activities and outcomes.
They include templates for agencies to use throughout the project's life cycle.
Number four.
DIR and the Quality Assurance Team dictate project management practices or outcomes.
Your agency determines your own project management practices and outcomes in accordance with
Texas Administrative Code 216.
And finally, number five.
Agency programs and technology projects are managed in the same way.
Actually, an agency program may consist of several projects.
The Framework only addresses managing major information resources projects. Your agency
determines how to manage your agency's programs.
