Hello everybody! My name is Nemanja Bakovic.
I’m a second-year Master of Science student of the School of Design of the Politecnico di Milano
The title of my programme is Product Service System Design.
It’s the only School of Design programme taught completely in English,
as opposed to the other programmes which are taught in Italian
This programme is quite distinctive due to the fact that it is in English
and because it teaches a specific field called Strategic Design
It’s very interesting because there are many international students from all over the world
In fact I think that the greatest benefit I have had here are my friends who are very international
The faculty are also very diverse in nationality, from leading Italian experts in this field
authors of some of the most important books on Service Design
to visiting professors who come from New York, Chicago and other cities all over the world
I particularly like the fact that when enrolling in this university there is a good chance of being awarded various types of scholarships
For example, I was granted a scholarship to cover my living expenses in Milan and
I think that’s one of the most important factors which influence a student to go and study abroad
Before this course I studied architecture and decided to make a minor change to my field of study
because we all know that there’s a crisis in architecture
The Politecnico di Milano is one of the few universities that teach strategic design
and is perhaps one of the best universities in Europe and the world that offer this programme
What else can I say? I should mention that life in Milan is very interesting
and the city is very dynamic. The University and the School are organised in two campuses
one is called Leonardo and is in the very city centre,
the other, called Bovisa, is located in north-west Milan, and is where all the courses of the School of Design are based and where all student life takes place.
I’m now doing an internship at an international company which
Politecnico di Milano organised for me via its Career Service
I just have my thesis left. When I graduate, I don’t know exactly what job I will do or where
but I must admit that many doors have opened for me by coming to this University
If you’re considering enrolling in this School, prepare yourself well, and brush up your languages
Good knowledge of English is the most important thing, and it’s also very important to know at least basic Italian for life in Milan.
Good luck with your application and perhaps we’ll meet here in the near future. Thank you!
