Hi I'm Niki, today we're working on a special video addition of the Tweak and Eat column
we're making adult version of the popsicle using fresh mango, ginger
and basil, so let's get started, we'll be using a food processor for this recipe
so grab a big food processor bowl we'll dump in our mango
we've got about three mangoes for approximately 4 large popsicles
or 6 smaller ones, so get that all in there
you can also use strawberries, other fruit, maybe mint, we're using
basil as we said, about six leaves here julienned together
and about two inches
of ginger grated, it's about a heaping tablespoon maybe
then we'll take it to the food processor
blend until smooth, you can leave it a little bit chunky if you like but it
freezes better as a popsicle
if you get all the mango smooth turn it on
the tweak here is we haven't used sugars or unnatural juices or anything like that
and also more herbs and adult flavours in this popsicle, that's the tweak on this dish so we should be about good here, let's look
inside, see how smooth we are, now we've got nice smooth mango puree, we can bring it over into our popsicle molds here
if you can try to find some BPA-free popsicle molds
we'll pour it in nicely, I'm probably gonna make a mess
a little tip, maybe leave about an inch of space at the top, that leaves enough room for your
popsicle stick
fill up the whole tray once it's ready to go, pop it in the freezer
I've already got some frozen for you here just so I could show you what they look like
we made 4 before, they're little bit larger than the other one and to get them out
the little trick is to get some hot water going
and drizzle it over the plastic of the popsicles just to loosen everything up a
little bit
so just hold it over here and then when you feel like they're ready to go and they can
come out we're going to plate it really nicely just sticking with the adult theme
we're using some margarita glasses
so at the bottom of the margarita glass you can use some berries a little garnish just to
offset the color a little bit you can add a little alcohol if you like maybe some *** or tequila
just to spice it up and keep with the adult theme
but you don't have to totally optional it tastes great without
this should slide out nicely now
just place it on top you might want to put a little garnish of your basil or whatever herb
you used inside and serve doesn't that look great
