My name is Ira Oliff and I practice Hematology and medical oncology
I've been in practice for twenty years. When I was in high school I had the
opportunity to participate
in research at sloan-kettering Institute in New York and
that stimulated my interest in cancer
medicine
Well, from the basic science standpoint cancer is very complex disease
and its affect on
human suffering is great and I think that
I always felt that if you could understand the biology of cancer that we
could
help the suffering. I practice both Hematology and medical oncology
and I see patients that have the
spectrum of blood disorders and
cancers. The philosophy of our practice is to offer
the most cutting-edge and current treatments for our patients
that are evidence-based supported by the medical literature
and to do it in a atmosphere that is
both comforting and compassionate to the
patient so that they feel like they're not in a large clinic but more
being treated in a family setting, in a
setting by people who care very much for them.
