Welcome to my kitchen!
I am here today to show you how to make a low-calorie version of traditional hummus.
Are you ready to get started?
This recipe is made in the food processor. It is very easy.
All you need is: 1 can of garbonzo beans
The juice of 1 lemon, 1 clove of garlic,
1/4 cup vegetable broth, 1/4 teaspoon salt
Let's start by juicing our lemon.
It's OK if you do not have a fancy juicer. You can just squeeze the lemon into the food processor.
You have judt got to make sure to remove any seeds.
I'm going to prepare my garlic.
One clove of garlic.
I'm going to rinse the garbonzo beans in a colander to remove some of the sodium.
We will add our garbonzo beans to our food processor.
We add our clove of garlic and lemon juice.
Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
The salt I'm using today is lite salt. It is 50/50 salt to reduce sodium.
This recipe does not need to be exact. You can taste it.
Add a little bit more or a little bit less salt if you need to.
You can add other items to it. This is traditional lemon-garlic hummus.
Now I am going to add 1/4 cup low-sodium vegetable broth.
I am using this in place of oil.
Now all we are going to do is blend this together until it is smooth.
Now I am going to taste it and see if I need to add anything to it.
That is perfect.
Let's try it with a Triscuit.
Very good!
