bjbj 2 Foods To Never Eat At Restaurants Mike Chang: Hello, what s up guys. This is Mike
Chang with sixpackshortcuts. So I went out to eat this other day and I wanted to eat
healthy and I went to a restaurant called Olive Garden and actually it used to be one
of my favorite restaurants. Have been there a little while and I didn't want to eat anything
heavy, so I decided hey I am going to eat healthy. So I went out there, I told the girls,
like well, what is something healthy, you know what salad. Seem to be light, it is really
good, it was like a never ending salad deal for like five seventy five right and the girls
were like what hey if you go ahead and add a dollar to it, you can go ahead and get unlimited
never ending soup too. I was like, six dollars and seventy five cents for unlimited soup
and salad, you know what, can't go wrong dad. I figured out salads and soups are healthy,
six seventy five, can't go wrong right. So ok, cool, so I went ahead, I ate two little
plates of salad right. It was like a garden salad they have and then I ate like two little
bowls of soup and even had like unlimited bread sticks, I know bread is not good for
you, so I was like ok cool, I just take one bread stick and I figured, this is probably
the worst thing here and that was it right. So I went home and I looked it up, just to
be curious and guess what I found. Now everybody think soups and salads are like totally good
for you and honestly I was thinking the same I mean that is why I ordered all of that,
Olive Garden, I want something bad I would have ordered some like a burger you know.
I looked it up on their website, on their menu and I found out, the two little bowls
of soup that I ordered, one had two hundred and fifty calories and the other one had like
a hundred and thirty calories in like these tiny little bowls and the salad was like a
hundred and fifty calories each because I had a little bit of dressing which I could
not even taste and I had like two little plates and that bread stick alone, which was like
this big was like super small, it was like hundred and forty calories. So I sat there
and added everything up and it ended up being like eight hundred thirty calories, that I
ate and Olive Garden offered just soup and salad. I am sitting here and thinking holy
crap. So, the whole time I am sitting there eating going man I am eating healthy, this
meal is good, I am super low on calories and I almost ate a thousand calories. I might
have should have eaten like a burger or something, well actually that would have been little
more. Right, honestly I looked up the menu, I could have got like a grill chicken plate
with some veggies and stuff like that and something else on there, it would have ended
up being about eight hundred calories because everything the restaurant's calories are pretty
super high but the good thing about that is I would have got a lot more protein out of
it because you eating soups and salads and bread sticks and stuff, you are not going
to get much nutritional value and at the same time the calories are actually much higher
than what you expect. So take this from me. Next time you are going out to eat or if you
are currently going out to eat right now and you are ordering soups and salads because
you think it is just super healthy for you, think again, I would have you either, number
one, check the menu and see exactly how much calories are on there and they might not even
have it down the restaurant because it is so damn high or just order something else
or just do not go out to eat as often because if you do and you are wondering hey, I am
working out hard and why cannot I go ahead and get rid of this little layer of fat? A
lot of times, it could be the healthy food that you are eating like soups and salad.
So, lesson learn from me, next time I go out I am not ordering a soup, I am not ordering
bread sticks and only way to really get a salad that is healthy for him is if you literally
have like dry spinach or dry like lettuce like dry like -- no dressing and if you have
like chicken breast over it and may like some cucumbers or couple of other stuff and no
cheese and that is it. And it has to be like small because literally I have two small plates
like this and it was like three hundred calories by itself. So when I am weighing out the difference,
am I going to go with soup and salad next time or if I am going to go with something
like grill chicken or grill steak, honestly guys, I would rather go ahead with grill chicken,
grill steak because if I am going to go out to eat, I am going to eat the calories any
ways, I myself to be more protein and a lot more tasteful and fulfilling for me. So, hope
this helps. Next time you go out, be careful on what you eat, stay away from soups and
salads, especially if it is never ending I mean that is the only reason why I ate two
plate I was like hay it is never ending plus that food is healthy for you, big mistake.
