Today we are doing our very first cooking show!
We will be making raspberry and strawberry sugar cubes in adorable shapes!
How to make Strawberry Sugar Cubes!
But she doesn't suck at co-ordinating adorable outfits soooo...
Tadaa! Much cuter!
Sorry, I don't get to wear my cooking set very often and I'm quite proud of it, so bear
with me for a moment.
I'm not very good at cooking but I like it because it's so much fun! So let's give these
sugar cubes a go!
These are raspberry ones that I made earlier.
So what you will need is sugar...Water...Mixing bowl...Some flavours...And some candy moulds
So let's get started!
First put some sugar into the bowl. I started with 1/4 of a cup.
And now the flavouring syrup.
You can use any flavour you want but today I'm doing strawberry.
So I'm just going to put three drops in to begin with and see how watery it gets.
You can also add food colouring now if you would like.
Now we are going to use a little teaspoon to mix it all together.
You don't want to put too much liquid in otherwise your sugar will dissolve and that's no good.
Keep mixing till it becomes a similar consistency to brown sugar and oh my god it smell so good!!!
Now we are going to add just little bit of water.
One or two teaspoons should do it but you'll need to judge this based on your sugar.
You want it to look kind of like a really frozen slushy.
Like this!
Now let's go to the moulds! I'm using a silicone mould so it's easy to get them out.
All you need to do is put a bit of sugar in each space and really pack it in.
You can use your fingers or the back of a spoon to smooth it into the shape.
Make sure to wash your hands first!
Now pack them in a bit more. If there are air pockets inside they won't take the shape
of the mould.
Feel free to give the mixture a little taste test! Just to make sure they taste right of
course...
This batch turned out a little bit wet, but still held together well.
Pop them in the oven and turn it on to the grill setting.
Make sure you keep an eye on them because you don't want the sugar to boil, we just
want them to dry.
Done! And now we dance!
If you don't have silicon moulds you can just roll the sugar out onto a tray and cut shapes
out afterwards.
Tadaa! If you don't want to put them in the oven you can just leave them on the bench
over night.
Either way, when you're finished they should look like this .
When they are completely hard and dry just pop them onto a plate.
The water should have evaporated and made them into perfect little sugar cubes.
These make great gifts when you put them in adorable packaging and smell SO GOOD!!!!
Taste test! So delicious!
So I would say they our first cooking show has not been a complete failure. Woo!
You can use these to
flavour tea or any other beverages of choice.
I like to put mine in English Breakfast tea to put a little bit of flavour on top!
These are the raspberry ones that I made earlier on. Stars, hearts, jewels and butterflies!
What do you think I should cook next? Let me know in the comments!
Thanks so much for watching, see you guys next week, bye!
