Lemon-Amla(Gooseberry) Pickle.
Ingredients required to prepare Lemon-Amla(Gooseberry) Pickle :
Amla, Lemon, Fenugreek seeds, Mustard, Oil, Red Chilli powder, Turmeric powder, Salt.
For 1kg Amla, you will need 1/2Kg Lemon.
You will also need the juice of 1/4kg Lemons.
Cut the Amla into pieces. Avoid the seeds.
Cut the Lemon into similar pieces.
Add 1/2 tbsp Turmeric powder.
Add 2 tbsp Salt.
Mix well.
Cook this without adding water & closing the pan with a lid in a low flame.
In the meanwhile, prepare Mustard powder & Fenugreek seeds powder.
Heat Oil in a pan for a while.
Let the Amla-Lemon & Oil cool.
Add Salt to taste & 1 cup Red Chilli powder.
Add 1 cup Lemon juice.
Add 1 tbsp Mustard seeds powder.
Add 2 tbsp Fenugreek powder.
Mix well.
Add Oil till the Amla-Lemon sinks.
Soak this for an hour.
Store this in an air tight container.
