Now, let's move on to some hair, shall we? My hair's pretty long, it's pretty naturally
wavy, it holds styles really, really easily. And, right now, it's about two days old, in
terms of the last time that I washed it. But don't worry, I showered before then. If you
have really thin or slippery hair, I would definitely recommend maybe putting a little
bit of texturizing cream or volumizer in before we get started. And, in terms of hairspray,
I'm just using the flexible stuff, but -- again -- if you have really slippery hair, go for
the freeze hardcore mega stuff. So, I've already parted my hair down the center, and I'm going
to put each side in a very very VERY high pigtail. You want to think of it as though
you're actually wearing that Minnie Mouse ears headband. You want the positioning to
be right above your ear, about an inch away from your part, maybe two inches. And you
wanna use STRONG elastics, like you do not want your hair to move AT ALL, so make sure
you're using something that going to really hold tight and stay in place. I feel like
I kind of look like Lady from Lady and the *** right now. For the next step, you're
gonna need another elastic. I've tried to combine steps one and two, but -- honestly
-- the key is using double elastics to create the ultimate foundation, so that your ear
is sticking straight up. You're gonna grab your tail -- make sure that it's brushed out,
it's smooth and for the most part even and going straight back-- and then you're going
to wrap the elastic around as many times as it will go. On the last time, make sure that
the elastic is going from front to back. You're going to loop it over, so that you've got
this little, little guy hanging out right here, your little ear. Even everything out
in the back, so that this is all being pulled at the same length at the same time. So you're
going to pull until it's about three inches tall, kinda like that, see? Got my little
ear. And then, with this extra stuff, you're gonna wrap it around the back, pull it through
this loop. And then what you can do is you can wrap it around the back once more and
pin it down. And the key to this is always gonna be pin from the back, pin from the back,
pin from the back! You're gonna wanna pin forward all the time, but truly you want the
back to be the most solid foundation. Now you're gonna take this top part and the way
I kind of think about it is it's like a slinky. So, you wanna go from the middle and then
slowly start to unravel it. And so that it doesn't start getting piece-y, add a little
spray. So, very lightly spread it out and then, once you're grounded, start to secure.
My little secret when you're doing up-dos and styles like this, if you really want a
secure secure foundation, crisscross your bobby pins when you're -- umm -- when you're
pinning stuff down. Other side. Being careful not to create any holes. And see we've got
the ear starting to form here! And then, now, to cover up this elastic right here, this
is when you can cheat a little bit and pin down the front. There's ear number one! And,
if you're having trouble covering up this elastic -- I probably shouldn't have used
white -- that's when you can kind of use the bow as a little cheat device. So, what I could
do is I could have just one bow on the side or I could even do little pigtails with each
one, so I don't have to worry about that part. But, here it is coming together! Spray it
down. And then, I'm gonna pin this little guy... right there! I actually really lucked
out with these little bows. I was at the costume shop, and I found them on the floor by the
dressing room, and it looks like they fell off of -- I dunno -- maybe stalkings or a
dress or something, and the store manager let me take them for free! So, perfect for
my little occasion! So, now, to repeat on the other side! One, two -- oh, this one's
loose! And on the last one, loop it around, even it out -- that looks about even! Give
this little guy a little spray. Through the loop we go! Then, we're gonna take this, pushing
forward and opening it up like a little slinky or a little rainbow. And then, again, always
starting the pinning from the back and working your way forward. And for the bow, what I'm
doing is I am just sticking a bobby pin through the back, looping it through, and then digging
it in. Finishing little touches here... And now I'll pin up my little Mexi-curls that
I so often get. Clean up the look. And here's the final look: Minnie Mouse hair and makeup!
