Sodium is something we all need in our diets. But most of us are getting way too much.
When eating out, there are some things you can to limit your sodium intake.
Stay tuned to this edition of Project Health. When dining at any restaurant, one of the
best things you can do to limit sodium is make smart food choices.
High sodium diets are linked to high blood pressure, a risk factor for heart and kidney
disease. In restaurants, choose mostly fresh, less
processed foods. Like fresh fruit, vegetables, salad, baked
potato, fish, meat and poultry entrees without sauce, cheese, breading or salty seasoning.
Or split a meal. Half portions means half the amount of sodium.
You can also look on restaurants' websites for the amount of sodium in menu items.
