A great way to open up your hips and come into the rhythm of your breath is with Sufi
circles. You can do this alone but it is really fun to do it with a partner. Again you start
seated back to back in your easy seating pose. Now it's an opposition breath so as I come
forward, Gina is going to be leaning back and then we are actually going to be making
circles, circling the body around and as Gina leans forward, I'm going to lean back opening
my chest, good, so we're going to come into the breath but it's going to be an opposition
so when I'm inhaling, she's exhaling. You want to talk to your partner, you want to
make sure you're not putting so much pressure that you knock your partner over, you always
want to be mindful of your partner, good and then we'll do one more circle in this direction
and then we're going to come back in the opposition direction, good. You want to maintain the
contact of the shoulder blades so you have got to make sure that you don't come down
too low so that you lose your partner. You always want to maintain that connection with
your breath as well as with your partner. So we'll come around for two more times like
that, it really feels great on our hips. This is very centering as well.
