ello and welcome to Cupcake Addiction's Easy No-Bake Sunflower Cookie Pop. We'll be showing
you how to make this great and really easy and, best of all, no-bake sunflower cookie
pop. Tools and equipment that we will be using
today: I've got a polystyrene block. I'm just using
that to rest my finished pops in. I've got some sticky tape.
A zip lock bag. I've got a pair of scissors.
I've got a teaspoon and a large spoon. A knife.
2 lollipop sticks. I've got a little bit of our perfectly pipeable
buttercream frosting and I've just tinted that yellow today. I will leave a link to
the recipe and instructions for that frosting in the description box below. Otherwise, you
can use any frosting you like. I've got a little bit of melted dark chocolate.
I've got some spearmint leaf lollies or candies. If you don't have access to spearmint leaf
lollies, we do have a tutorial on our channel for making your own fondant leaves so you
can check that one out. And I've got some Oreo cookies.
Let's get started. The first thing that we want to do is take
one of our lollipop sticks and one of our spearmint leaf candies. Now I am going to
just push the lollipop stick in. I'm not going to use anything to affix it. And I'm kind
of going in on a little bit of an angle at the tip of it, the bottom of that leaf. And
I'm just going to slide it down the stick. You don't need anything to stick it on. The
candy itself is quite sticky so it's just going to adhere to the stick, not a problem.
You can see there, it's on a little bit of an angle so it's kind of coming up like a
natural leaf would. Now we want to take one of the Oreo cookies
and I'm going to cut it in half. I know you can twist them but I just want a really nice
even cut. Lay it down and I'm going to push the lollipop stick into that Oreo cream. Take
the teaspoon and just get a little bit of that melted dark chocolate. You don't want
too much. You don't want it to come too far around the edges. And this is just going to
help really glue that lollipop stick in place. Take the other side of your Oreo cookie and
sandwich the two together. That's going to stop it from falling off. The cream itself
is not quite enough to hold the cookie on to that stick once we get all the decorations
on. Now with one of these other Oreo cookies,
you want to split it in half. We'll use the knife again. This is where it gets a little
bit messy. I always think it's a little bit fun when it gets a little bit messy.
Now just take your big spoon. And with the back of the spoon, just crash that Oreo cookie.
Nice and fine. Now you want to take a little bit more of
that melted dark chocolate and just spoon it on to not quite all the way to the edges
but the main part of the middle of the Oreo. You can leave the Oreo logo. But I think it
looks a little bit more realistic if we do the actual kind of sunflower seed inside.
So just taking that sunflower seeds, just sprinkle them on top into a little mound. And then just using your
finger, just pat it down. Now you want to wait for that one to completely
dry before we go on and add our lovely little leaves on. So we'll do a little tidy up and
we'll come back when that chocolate has completely set.
Alright, so I'm happy that that's all completely set now. I've actually popped mine in the
freezer for a few seconds just because I was a bit impatient waiting for it to set.
Now you want to [take] your zip lock bag and the sticky tape. And we're just going to reinforce
the corner of our zip lock bag by just placing a piece of sticky tape on one corner and folding
it over. I'll repeat this, I think, 3 times and it's
just going to give us a lovely stiff edge on that zip lock bag. If you've got a leaf
piping tip and a piping bag, this is the great time to use the leaf piping tip. But because
not everybody will have one, we're going to show you how to make just a quick and easy
leaf piping tip today. So you've got your zip lock bag. You want
to take your scissors and just snip off the corner. So I'm taking quite a lengthy piece
of the corner. And then I'm just going to cut a little nick into the end. So what you
should have there is a nice little cut off corner and then a little triangle piece into
it. Take your yellow frosting, and we'll just
spoon that into the bag. If you love this tutorial, make sure that
you head over to our channel My Cupcake Addiction and hit the Subscribe button. I'll be showing
you how to use this cookie pop as a fantastic flower pot cupcake along with some other great
little flower pots. So make sure that you've subscribed so you don't miss out on that fantastic
tutorial. Now with my leaf, I'm going to push it up
but I'm not going to push it up yet. So I'm going to push it up to meet up with the bottom
of the Oreo but I don't want to do that until I finished putting on all of my leaves.
So I started in the center, in between. You want to kind of close that gap. And I'm just
squeezing and pulling out. So you can see there, I'm squeezing with the little triangle
facing forward. And it's giving us a really nice little ridge in the middle of that piped
pattern and a nice little point. So we're going to do that all the way around.
Alright, now you can definitely leave it there if you like. But I like to do another layer
on the front just to cover up that edge of the Oreo cookie. So the ones at the back,
I want to be a little bit longer. And the ones at the front are going to be a little
bit shorter just to give us that two-layered effect. And I'm actually going to pipe these
ones in between the longer back ones. So where 2 petals overlap, I will put another shorter
petal. And we'll go all around the center circle.
So there you've got your really really easy completed sunflower cookie pop, no-bake, super
easy, great for Mother's Day or for any spring time occasion. And here you can see it as
part of our flower pot cupcake design. I think you'll agree, that's a real show stopper and
I hope that you'll stay tuned for that one coming soon.
