Hi. My name is Mary Thinnes and I'm a skin care expert. I'm going to discuss with you
now alpha hydroxy-acids. There are two families of acids, alpha hydroxy and beta hydroxy.
Right now, I'm just going to go over the alpha hydroxy-acids with you. Alpha hydroxy-acids
are water soluble and they actually help break down the dead skin cells on the surface of
the skin. What happens is that your dead skin cells become glued together with debris just
with aging too. The cells will start to stick together if you don't take care of your skin
appropriately. So, that being said alpha hydroxy-acids help those cells become unglued and actually
helps to exfoliate [ph] the epidermis, which is your outermost layer of skin. So, that
being the case, alpha hydroxy-acids also help to plump the skin, they help replenish the
collagen. So, they are good for filling in those fine lines, they're great for dehydrated
skin and this was all at home care. This will be something that's included in your home
care regime. So, that being said that is alpha hydroxy-acids and I will discuss the five
with you in detail.
