Hello and welcome to Cupcake Addiction's Rainbow Jelly Jar Tutorial where I'll be showing you
how to make this bright and fun rainbow jellies in a jar.
They're not a cake or a cupcake but I had to share them with you guys as I'm making
these for my niece's beautiful rainbow dessert table.
Tools and equipment that you will need today: I've got... I think I'm using four teaspoons
and tablespoons, four of each. I've got a cup measure.
I've got some smaller containers. I'm going to use cups because I was running a bit short
on container with all of these ones that I'm using for this tutorial.
I've got a tin of just condensed milk. I've got jar. You can use any size or shape
jar but do make sure that it's a clear one because you want to really accentuate those
beautiful rainbow colors. And I've got my jelly in bowls premade according
to the manufactures direction. So I've got red, yellow, orange, green, blue and purple,
all ready to go. And I will also mention that I have let these jellies cool. So they are
not cold. They have been refrigerated but they are cool. They're no longer hot. You
can also use gelatin mix of a (Inaudible 01:07) gelatin and actually coloring yourself. But
I'm not that big on gelatin. I'm just going to use the 99 cent packets that I've bought
from the supermarket. So let's get started.
I want to start with my bottom cup. So obviously, you'll take the lead off your jar. And for
that bottom color, I'm going to go with purple. I'm going to try and keep the measurements
of jelly that I've put in the jar pretty well exactly the same. And I've done a couple little
practices because I've kind of got four jars on the go for this tutorial so that we don't
have as much waiting time in between. These are really easy but there's a lot of waiting
time in them, guys. So I worked out that 3 tablespoons. I think
it was about 3 tablespoons was about a good measure for the amount of jelly that I want
to have on each layer. So you can see there, it's a kind of hard to tilt it but we'll pop
a still short. You can see there, that we've got a nice little, about a centimeter or so
of jelly. Now we're going to put that into the refrigerator
to fully set and you can do that with all of your jars. Off they go into the refrigerator
to set. Now as I mentioned, I've got a couple of these
on the go so... Wow! Here's one that's already set. That's amazing.
Now the great thing about these ones... And you can just do the to straight jelly colors.
But what I'm going to do is I'm going to turn them into a bit of a full color, pastel color
rainbow. So I want to pour...maybe do about a third of a cup. And I'm going to keep my
containers the same colors so that I don't lose track of where my jelly is. About a third
of a cup of jelly into that cup. And I'm going to put that with one tablespoon. I'll grab
that clean spoon. One tablespoon of condensed milk, delicious condensed milk. Don't worry
if you use a little more, a little less. It really doesn't matter. Drizzle it in there.
Someone's going to get to do some good spoon looking later. And then take one of your smaller
spoons and just stir it around. You can see there, (Inaudible 03:07) through
and just stir it around. It gives you that lovely, milky, pastel-y, color purple. There
you've got your pastel. So now we're going to take that same spoon
and we're going to do 3 tablespoons of the pastel jelly on top of that set jelly. Now
this is why I'm telling you to use completely cool jelly because if you put hot jelly on
top of set jelly, it will us-set your set jelly. And there you have now 2 layers of
your rainbow jelly jar. We'll pop that one off into the fridge for,
I guess, about 10, 15 minutes to set. Have a look at that! Wow, that was quick!
It's already set! So the next color that I'm going to do is
going to be blue. Once again, I'm going to keep to my measurement of 3 tablespoons -- 1,
2 and 3. You can really start seeing this start to take shape. You've got there now
your lovely 3 colors off into the fridge to set.
And voila! Jeez, it's a good fridge! Now you want to take that third of a cup again.
And once again, this is going to depend on how many you want to make. So I'm just going
to do a third of a cup. I've got 4 on the go here. And I also [did] some little jelly
shots which I'll show you a still shot of it at the end of this tutorial. So it is a
lot of jelly, guys. Jellies are really cheap so you don't have to worry if you're throwing
some of it out at the end or if you're not quite using it all. But this is a lot of jelly.
I would estimate, it could probably do 8 to 10 jars.
Just taking your spoon. Try to keep you spoons new for each color. Stir that around, preferably
not on your measuring cup like I've just done. With that lovely lovely milky color. And 3
tablespoons on top of that set darker blue jelly -- 1, 2 and 3.
That's all the jars we have. So we really are going to have to go off to the fridge.
But you can see there how this is going to work. We're just going to repeat that process
for all of these different colors. And once we get to the end, we're going to have an
extravaganza of jelly goodness. Alright, so our blue has come out of the fridge
and that is nice and set like jelly should be.
Now from blue, I want to do green. As you start to get towards the top of your
jars, you may find that you need just to increase the amount that you're putting in to make
allowance for the fact that the neck comes in a little bit skinnier there.
Finally, we're on to our last few colors and it has been a lot of setting, not a lot of
work but a lot of waiting around. On goes our last beautiful red.
Now you can decide if you want to put the lids back on your jars. If you do, you'll
need to make them just a little bit less full. I'm not going to. I'm actually going to put
a lovely swirl of whipped cream of top of mine.
As you can see from this photo, this is my completed rainbow layer jelly jar and it's
going to be an absolute hit at my rainbow party.
I hope that you've enjoyed watching this tutorial as much as I've enjoyed making it. Once again,
