Preparation of the purple gold - the cacao bean.
NOW! It's...
It's time to grind some cocoa beans for the cocoa milk.
I use these ones.
- Raw organic cacao beans.
"Raw" means they are not roasted like cacao beans normally are..
They are completely raw.
They haven't been subjected to heat at all.
They have only been fermented.
These are without peel, because they are crushed.
But you can buy whole unfermented beans with peel as well.
And they are special because they are purple.
The peel and core contains purple colorants.
If you make cocoa milk on unfermented beans, it becomes purple.
And if you take a closer look at these cacao nibs...
...you will occasionaly find that they, too are purplish in colour.
So the cacao bean is originally really not brown, but purple.
Thus, one may assume it activates the higher chakras.
It is a common belief...
...traditionally it is said...
...as a belief or thumb of rule...
...that different foods...
...activate the chakras with the same colour...
...as the food in itself.
And before we grind these...
we shall heat the mortar...
...a few minutes in the micro wave oven.
The mortar must be warm enough...
...for the fat inside the cacao beans to melt.
And as the fat inside the cacao beans melt...
...they form a paste.
It becomes like...
...a sticky paste,
which can be used to make chocolate.
A chocolate bar, for example.
But that's a different story.
Three minutes later...
Then we pour...
...13 g cacao beans down here,
which suffices for a cup of cocoa milk.
Then we start levigating it.
As you can see, we have a paste, a cacao paste,
and it contains about 60% fat.
Among other things, it can be used to make...
...cocoa, cookies, for example kladdkaka....
...as a substitute for cocoa powder.
This is beneficial because you don't need that much butter.
Since the cacao beans contain 60% fat, you need less butter.
So you get a healthier fat.
You can also with great benefit...
...use it as a war paint.
Maybe the old Aztecs did, you never know.
There's nothing quite like red beet juice!
Especially not if it's made in my way.
In order to complete our cocoa milk...
...we take:
1 cup
...then we add:
13 g ground cacao beans
Some cinnamon (more or less depending on taste)
1 krm ground vanilla
Steaming hot milk. (just enough to almost cover the ingredients.)
And once the indredients has been mixed, we fill the rest of cup with...
...hot or cold milk.
And thus it is ready.
The old Aztecs enjoyed this drink with corn-bread.
Personally I enjoy it with Wasa's sportknäckebröd...
...which I think works just as fine, and maybe it's a bit healthier too.
At least it's easier to find.
So eehm..
Cheers!
No sensitive nutrients were damaged during the making of this cocoa.
I am a little goose-boy from Skåne.
A Skåning as you know is always confident.
And though I am so close to sun and moon,
I sit safely on my goose back.
Far beneath me is laid out like a painting,
the beautifulest in the world a man can see.
Forests, lakes and shores alike,
become one single fairyland,
as you see it from above, a little bit like this.
Thanks for visiting Welcome back
I'm sure you'll be warm and comfortable there.
Goodnight!
