Jim and Sue run their own business from a small office
with Zen Internet's Fibre Optic Broadband
and a phone line from another company,
but Jim and Sue had a problem. They were concerned that, whilst they don't
make lots of calls,
the call connection fees their provider charge mean they get quite high bills
Even worse, even short calls came with a minimum fee. One day, Sue
received an email from Zen Internet explaining that its business phone line
and calls services had no call setup charges, no minimum fees,
and was available on a one-month contract not only that
it was also free to switch. They had nothing to lose,
so they switched to Zen. Jim and Sue chose Business Talk
and reaped the benefits, plus having one supplier for phone and broadband
made life much simpler. As their business expanded
so did outbound calls, so they decided to upgrade to Business Talk Plus
which includes 5000 anytime minutes to 01,
02, 03, 0845 & 0870 numbers,
helping to control their costs. Growth meant new premises
and as there are now eight members of staff, they decide to install four
channels of ISDN2 from Zen, therefore
allowing four simultaneous calls. They also knew that the costs
would be minimised, with Zen's great call rates and no call connection fees.
The 12-month contract option for ISDN2
was also much less restrictive than other providers
which required a longer commitment and within six months Jim and Sue already needed
to increase the number of channels
from four to eight, something which Zen managed
for them. Always with an eye to the future
and further growth Jim and Sue recognised that the ISDN2 lines
were at their maximum so they needed to look for alternatives.
They had confidence in ISDN and Zen,
and after speaking to their account manager they upgraded to
ISDN 30 to give them 12 channels
for 12 simultaneous calls. They needed to invest in a new PBX to allow them to do this
and as they were conscious of future proofing their system
they chose an IP enables PBX.
The time had come for Jim and Sue to relocate
again -- this time to a new purpose-built office
designed for their needs. Staff levels had increased
to 30 and they had orders in for the next 18 months.
Technology had also moved on and they were able to install
a leased line at the new premise. Prices had reduced dramatically in the last few
years
and they were able to provision a leased line that could carry
all their data traffic as well as their voice traffic
thanks to regular updates from their account manager
Jim and Sue knew they could easily add SIP trunks to their
leased line replacing their ISDN30 and bringing with it
new features covering business continuity and
enterprise mobility. They added 30 channels of SIP to the leased line,
enabling them to get the most out of the connection. As the SIP service and
connectivity were both provided by
Zen they knew that the quality, customer service and support
would all be excellent, while the costs savings were an
added bonus too
