Can I get a whoop, whoop?
[crowd] Whoop, whoop!
- Quick! Rewind it! - Then Shrek... Ow!
[male narrator] Shrek 2 features an all-star cast of returning voice talent.
- Mike Meyers... - Come here. Come on, now.
- ...Eddie Murphy... - What?! [laughing]
- ...and Cameron Diaz, - [giggling]
and new star talent, including Antonio Banderas as *** in Boots.
[hissing]
Julie Andrews is Queen Lillian.
They're both festive, aren't they?
- John Cleese is King Harold. - An ogre from a swamp. How original.
Rupert Everett is Prince Charming.
If you've got it, flaunt it... [chuckling] What?
Jennifer Saunders as Fairy Godmother.
Mommy can handle this.
Larry King as the ugly step-sister, Doris.
Hey, gorgeous.
And Joan Rivers as herself.
Oh, my! The outfits look gorgeous.
Just as in the original Shrek,
many of the filmmakers provide voices for the characters in Shrek 2.
Oh!
Story artist Cody Cameron voices the Three Little Pigs...
Pigs und blanket!
- ...and Pinocchio. - What should I say?
Producer Aron Warner voices the Wolf...
- Yeah. - ...and production designer
Guillaume Aretos plays the Fairy Godmother's receptionist.
Yes, Fairy Godmother. Right away.
All of the directors also provide voices for the characters in the film.
Director Andrew Adamson voices the Captain of the Guards.
Man the cauldrons!
Director Kelly Asbury voices the Page from Far Far Away,
and both the Nobleman and his son.
Is there anything I can do for you?
Is everything all right, Father?
And director Conrad Vernon voices Mongo...
Be good...
- ...the Muffin Man... - Gingy!
- ...and Gingy. - Ah, whizzes on you guys!
[male narrator] Did you notice any of the hidden jokes in the film?
Here, you can see a castle worker climbing a ladder to nowhere.
You can see him fall off the ladder just as the camera whips around.
In this scene, Shrek is greeted by three beautiful ladies.
Here, I fetched you a pail of water.
The pail-fetching lady later refers to herself as Jill,
- as in Jack's other half. - I'm Jill. What's your name?
Um... Shrek.
Here, Shrek and Donkey interrupt two guards
giving the Headless Horseman a DUI test.
- Stop them! Thieves! - Hey you! Hey!
In this scene, the terrified townspeople run across the street,
from one Farbucks to another Farbucks.
[yelling]
Did you also notice all the hints to King Harold's true identity?
[croaking]
His bedroom is full of green lily-pad-like furnishings.
Queen Lillian reminisces about their young love...
Don't you remember when we were young and...
We used to walk down by the lily pond...
Our first kiss.
...and a frog on a barstool recognizes him from earlier days.
Do I know you?
Shrek 2 is also full of background props
that are sometimes hard to spot.
The entrance gates to Far Far Away resemble the gates
- to the historic Paramount Studios. - Wow!
Romeo Drive is full of medieval takes on popular stores and brands,
including Farbucks, Barney's Old York,
Versarchery, Baskin Robinhood,
Old Knavery, Tower of London Records,
Gap Queen, and Ambercrombie and Witch.
Even the Far Far Away sign resembles the classic Hollywood sign.
Fairy Godmother's factory lobby is full of before and after success stories
lining the walls, including Cinderella, Piggasus,
a Unicorn, Cyclops, and Tabatha the witch.
Fiona's old bedroom is full of medieval posters
of touring bands and heartthrobs,
including Lancelot, Stonehenge, Dragon Slayer,
Lute Heroes, Knaves to Knights,
and Sir Justin.
Oh. He sounds dreamy.
These are just a few of the buried secrets you can find in Shrek 2,
and all the Shrek films.
Ha-ha!
