Hey guys, what's up? Jeff Cavaliere here from athleanx.com bringing to you -no, not my twin
brother- jumping Jack Cascio. You're gonna be seeing a little bit more of this guy in
the future. I brought in the best. Now for this week I thought it would be cool to show
you some unique ways to train legs in the ATHLEAN-X program, with explosive movements.
If you want to build an athletic body, the number one prerequisite is: can you incorporate
explosive movements into what you're doing? And absolutely the answer is yes, you just
have to do the right things and doing them in a way that's fun and challenging. So what
I put together here with Jack is a four exercise circuit, similar to what we're asking you
to do in ATHLEAN-X, some really cool ways to train your lower body. A four exercise
circuit that we're gonna take you through. I'll take the first exercise, 1 and 3. This
guy can take 2 and 4, maybe give me a little bit of a break. As I'm showing you these exercises,
I'm gonna be telling you why we're doing what we're doing, so... I'll start off. I'm gonna
basically grab a kettlebell and we're gonna be doing a side to side skier hop with the
kettlebell, involve the upper body. By doing this, you're gonna see that the core gets
involved as well. I basically keep my kettlebell up here, I hop and cross and I'm gonna reach
up here as I press. So I'm gonna hop and cross and load...and load.
[pause] When I reach up here, I feel my core really
stabilize. When you see me kind of squat down, that's to kind of lower down and then I load.
I hop back and forth, ten on each leg. Jack takes over and he's gonna show you something
unique now. >> Jack: Alright, this next one is kind of
like your last one. But what you're gonna do is you're gonna land on the same leg that
you jump off of. It takes a lot of balance. So you're gonna hold this, you're gonna jump
in the air, like Jeff just did it, and you're gonna load up. So you're right here, jump
and now you're landing on the same leg. You know how I landed on the inside and I pushed
back to the outside. So it's here, press, switch. Ups, see I threw it there...
[pause] >> Jeff: So that's a little bit more complex.
You wanna start off a little easier, shorter landing points. Don't try extending so far
out. Next one that I do here is a version of the Bulgarian split squat. I'm basically
gonna go down here, pick that thing up and I'm gonna put it down. So let's see...up,
explode, down, explode. [pause]
Alright, so work each arm and go right to the other leg. What's the last exercise you've
got? >> Jack: Single leg butt kicks. So what you're
going to do with these is you're going to be on one leg, so let's say it's the left
leg and this leg is used for the rest of the exercise. So you come up here and you wanna
jump up, so you wanna build some elastic energy through that little squat I'm doing here.
Jump up and you'll touch your butt with your heel. So what it looks like is this, but if
you can't hit your butt, you can start halfway and build your way up. So if you start up
here, then we hit good...jump up, kick your butt. And from this side now. See I'm kicking
my butt... And you land like that every time. >> Jeff: That's more than just an exercise
to kick your butt, 'cause this whole little circuit will kick your butt, but this one's
all about... ...if you wanna follow the same old boring routine and get the same results
you've been getting, then that's what you do. But if you wanna elevate your game here,
take it to another level, you wanna start doing some exercises that challenge your body
in a different way. And if you want to build athletic muscle, which is what I always talk
about, that lean athletic look, lean but muscular at the same time... ...you've gotta be doing
explosive movements and incorporate them into your lower body. So ATHLEAN-X is all about
getting ways that you can incorporate this type of explosive movements into your workouts
at home and getting explosive results. So...Jack, thank you for coming by!
