Today we're gonna look at sculpting chocolate
Some you have asked for some alternatives with regards to the fondant or the
gum-paste for the
pre-made fondant cupcake toppers, you were worried that it didn't
wouldn't tastes good that it would be hard and you know you're not
completely wrong I can't say that a big piece of fondant on top of a
decorate cupcake is delicious so we're gonna look act
white chocolate and and you can color this with your colour gel
here I'm also gonna show another new product that I got is this silicone dome
pan
I love my dome pan to make my cupcake toppers in advance
I find it's very handy I had the Wilton steal one
and if ever something gets stuck in there well there's no you know
there is no flexibility where as here I can come from behind and pop it out
and I just decorated the cupcakes very simply
was just to show you that it can be done with the sculpting chocolate
I'm just rolling out my
chocolate
it rolls like very smooth it's very nice
ok
and now I'm going to use this petal
cutter
and we're gonna drop that into this domed mold
like so
I didn't put anything
for it to not stick since it is silicone it
should be fine. Here are my cupcake toppers that I made with that chocolate
I put them in the fridge just
to firm up quicker. We are going to move these to the side
now I'm going to, with some royal icing
I'm going to outline
the topper
for the top of the cupcake I am going to
add these little
Sixlets red ones
to finish off cupcake topper
little dot in the middle
should suffice to glue this on
there we go.
here my toppers I had placed them in the fridge simply because
contrary to fondant or gum paste
where it stiffens by drying in the air
the sculpting chocolate
is soft and remains soft and these are hollow
you know this is really thin and hollow under here and just to ensure
that it will not warp
as I place it on my buttercream I want it
firm so I put it in the refrigerator and now I'm taking my
piping bag and I'm just swirling
the cupcake and I can pick up my topper, it's not...we now it's
quite firm because it was in a refrigerator
and I can easily place that on the cupcake
as you can see it gives a nice finished product
and this once it's back to room temperature will be very easy to bite into
and I did a simple design just to demonstrate the product but you can't do
the textured mat or anything you want
it's a very versatile product in this case it's a little more fragile than
normal
simply because usually there sculpting actual figures that have something
holding them up
this is very thin alright here I've got another cupcake ready
just like that
gonna give you my final thoughts of the products that are used
in the video with regards to the Silikomart
mold I already had a steal pan and since I make videos
that's how I can justify purchasing this but if I had to tell you which one to
buy absolutely by this one
the versatility the fact that you can press in the back and you don't have to
worry about it getting stuck in there
I used nothing to ensure that it didn't stick and it popped right out
I really like this product it look at it looks brand new I washed its perfect
The Fondarific my daughter told me that it was the best cupcake
topper she'd ever had. I'm going to on camera, now this cupcake is room
temperature I brought it upstairs from my
arctic basement and I'm going to cut this
as you seeing that Sixlets
fell off which again isn't as hard as eating you know those
hard sugar pearls you can bite right through and
you see I cut nothing cracked whereas fondant would crumble after its been dried and gum paste
well forget about it
you see very easy
doesn't
even squish my cupcake you see, so if you're worried about
taste and texture this white chocolate is the way to go
