Look I've made a statement
with the Telegraph and that's probably
the best.. I've thought about
carefully how to put it and that's probably the best thing that you could read. It's in the
paper it'll be all through the Murdoch press, News Limited today..
but I suppose briefly Julian's character's extremely well portrayed.
Very true to life, the acting and the scripting and it shows his motivations
in becoming
a 'look-see' hacker, a non-criminal hacker and what he discovered
and how that fuelled his search for truth and justice and later on, the formation
of a whistle-blowing site which would enable people
citizens, let's not forget the whistleblowers are citizens trying to tell other
citizens what's going on
My own character i thought was a bit two-dimensional
um... if it's done on the back of of
media myth which is that um...
I'm a Left-leaning activist
uh... which i'm not.
There's nothing wrong with the Left-leaning activist but I'm not one of them.
uh... I have
from time to time engaged in some things where I thought there was an
injustice
but I wouldn't put it along those terms of
me being a political activist. I'm actually an artist.
uh... and mother, they're my primary roles and I felt that the film had shown
and that I was somehow inspiring Anti-US sentiment in Julian,
and this is absolutely not the truth.
uh... i've actually never
pushed my kids to believe anything politically. I don't believe in that. I think
they should make up their own minds
and I've more taught them to think critically
and I've actually learned far more from my son that he ever learned from me.
I actually didn't have a full political awakening
until Wikileaks
and um... and of course is the
you can read the rest of it anyway
in a review, it's only short
but that's probably that the gist of it but i think it is it worth watching
uh... because i think uh... Julian is extremely will portrayed.
uh... it felt like i was actually looking at my own son
at times
but read the review in the Herald Sun and uh... The Telegraph
and the Courier Mail
prior to watching a movie if you would because um...
there are some inaccuracies but if you can
you know, bear in mind that they probably just put in for dramatic tension
and not take them on board as fact
then probably the spirit of the movie's pretty good.
