Jason: Well, OaaS is Office as a Service and it encompasses a few
different products and technologies. Hosted PBX, hosted exchange, hosted
desktop, managed security remotely and managed backups. So that encompasses
office as a service.
And what that does it enables an office to be essentially run from
anywhere, whether it's your home, or if you have a bunch of different
branch offices you're all tied together efficiently. It allows the
corporation to set much more stringent security policies and have greater
data reliability, data integrity, and to withstand any sort of interruption
in their office Internet access or office failure they can all work
remotely and efficiently.
Sure, well desktop as a service is a pretty simple concept design, new
concept, but because of today's advancements in bandwidth technologies and
service [computer] power, is becoming more prevalent. So what desktop as a
service is making your desktop host in the cloud and leveraging your
existing computer hardware without having to actually go out and buy new
hardware ever again.
So you can still run that three year old Dell box you have and never have
to replace it ever again. So no more three year hardware refreshes.
Everything is streamed from the cloud to your office providing the ability
to work from anywhere on any desktop in the company, or from the beach.
Yeah, so every three years you're essentially either leasing existing gear
or you essentially need to buy new gear because the latest Windows
operating systems or the latest office program is kind of forcing you to
make that next push into a newer year to handle the newer software.
So basically you never has to spend money on CapEx for this again. It all
becomes an OpEx expense leveraging your already depreciated and already
paid for equipment.
Interviewer: Now as you also said you can work on the beach, you jokingly
said that, which means there's a great amount flexibility and mobility what
you can do. Is that fair to say?
Jason: Right, because the stream from the cloud you can essentially
access it from any web browser, you can access it from application, access
it from your iPad, from your mobile phone, your full desktop experience.
Interviewer: So essentially now what you're saying if you're the CEO of a
company your employees now have no way of saying, I can't get to my work
anymore, because you know it's not there and it's accessible.
Jason: Correct.
Interviewer: That's pretty good.
Jason: Well, it allows the corporate executives to set the rules of the
game so to speak where they can control what can be installed, what can be
run, and how the applications interact with in a fairly granular way and
have it go across in real time to all their systems. It also provides for
greater security because this doesn't allow for your users to install, or
visit if you so desire, applications or visit malicious websites.
And it provides greater ability for us, the provider, to provide higher
security for your environment because it would have one very powerful
firewall cluster guarding and protecting your environment as opposed to
having a little rinky *** [soncol] or whatnot in your office doing it best
it's can, to maintain security for your environment.
Well a lot of offices currently use Legacy PBX systems like Avaya's or
Lucent's or...
Interviewer: Nortel?
Jason: Nortel's or whatnot. And they're very expensive and to get anything
more you've got to pay through the nose. And they're pretty much, once
again, stuck in the hardware refresh system where if you want this you have
to wait three years for the release to be up and then you can buy a new
one.
With the host to PBX, the PBX is constantly evolving and adding new
features adding new support options, adding more mobility options, and it
becomes from a CapEx to an OpEx where you don't need to worry about
refreshes and it's always updated.
And it allows greater mobility because it's host in the cloud thus enabling
your workers once again to work from anywhere and to have, for executives
like I like to have, my office, my home office, my office in Jersey, my
office in Dallas, all on the same phone line so why when people look to
reach me they call one number and it rings all three of those locations at
once. And if I so desire, it will ring my cell phone all at the same time.
Interviewer: So it's a mirror effect.
Jason: Yeah, it's a mirroring effect and it enables you to control where
and when you receive your phone calls.
Well yeah, I mean if you have an office in Dallas and an office in say
Clifton, where we are now, or an office in LA or whatnot, if they're on the
same host feedback system well there is no fees at all because it's one
conjoined system. So all your offices across the country or even all your
offices say in New York or New York Metro or Chicago or whatever, are all
on one phone system without having to buy multiple PBX's and pay for
expensive linking features and whatnot between them. But in most PBX host
PBX environments it's all unlimited local long distance calling within the
continental US.

Jason: Correct. It's predictable monthly bill month after month after
month without any surprises.
A lot of businesses maintain in office exchange servers. And in most cases
they're not updated properly. They have poor backups, if any backups at
all, and poor security. Not to mention no redundancy greatly affecting
their offices for liability, for receiving e-mail and sending e-mail, and
not to mention really, really poor anti-spam, anti-virus technology.
So by moving that into the cloud you not only get a full exchange cluster
backing up your environment as well as you get great anti-spam, anti-virus
capabilities, 24/7 support, real backups, and integrate seamlessly with DAS
and host PBX experience providing one fluid environment for you to receive
e-mail, make calls, click to call and voice mail to e-mail type of
features.
Yup. Basically what you do on one device will sync across all your other
devices or desktops or laptops, iPads, etc, all in real time.

Jason: It makes for a great customer experience.
