Got me some spicy news! It seems that Sony announced a 1TB next generation Blu-ray disc!
For those thinking that games will get that large this generation. I supremely doubt it!
However, this is still a great thing for physical media! For those of you who didn't quite know
the size a blu-ray disc could hold. 25GB single layer 50GB double layer. Something like Metal
Gear Solid 4 Guns Of The Patriots was 48GB's. And say God Of War 3 was 35GB's. As everyone
knows those games are technically stunning and super advanced. Sony does say that those
new 1TB disc's are for professional use but wouldn't dismiss it complete in years to come.
What does that mean? If we have to use a disc to make a high quality video game in the future
they will! Wouldn't it be crazy now and days if you opened up a video game to find two
blu-ray disc's inside? I mean maybe if you played Xbox 360 last generation you may have
gotten used to that idea. But if you had the PlayStation 3 you never ever expected a double
disc. Blu-ray seriously is the future folks. Whether you like it or not. Blu-ray disc provides
3D, True HD, and is extremely beneficial to movie makers and game developers. It's not
going anywhere! With all the 2K and 4K advancements we are making in terms of projectors. Blu-ray
will be able to meet that medium as well. Get used to blu-ray disc's people. Dvd's won't
last forever. Anyhow, what do you make of Blu-ray disc's? When you find a movie you
really enjoy and you want to own it..do you buy blu-ray? Or do you just get the DVD? I
think when people move more toward High Definition televisions and the tube's all burn out. I'm
sure it's going to be a standard to release digital and blu-ray only. That's just my thoughts
what's yours?
