Hey Cookaholics, Chef Kendra here and today we're making a very simple shrimp dish called
Shrimp with crispy potatoes and scallions. Of course it's very easy together, but it
also has a nice flavor. So, let's do what we do and head into the kitchen and make it
happen.
We have our ingredients go to go, Olive oil, a big freaking potato, scallions, frozen cooked
shrimp, Curry powder, cayenne pepper, black pepper and salt. I'm going with frozen cooked
shrimp in this dish because it was in the freezer. Using what's on hand to create a
tasty dish is what Chef and good cooks do.
Alright guys, we're going to start out by thinly slicing our scallion. Then we're going
to dice our russet potato.
What wonderful stuff have you come up with using stuff lying around? You can tell me
on twitter.
We've got our oil and potatoes in a pan under medium heat and we're going to add a little
salt at stir them around for 12 -- 14 minutes. These boys will be super crispy on the outside
and tender in the inside. We're going to remove them from the pan and set them aside while
we handle the next step.
We wiped down our pan then add a little more oil and soften our scallions whites. We're
pouring in a little more oil and sliding in our shrimp, and we're going to stir that around
a little bit.
Curry powder comes in many different kinds and use different ingredients. Just use on
that you and your family likes, you might have to test out a few.
We're adding the curry powder, a little more salt, the cayenne pepper goes in, and we're
just going to stir the shrimp and spices around until everything gets a bit of color, it's
going to smell fantastic.
We're adding the potatoes back to the pan. We're basically just heating them back up.
Just mix it all together. Now we're adding the scallion greens to the pan and giving
our shrimp dish a final mix, and that's about it guys.
We're going to taste this. I have some shrimp and potatoes and a little bit of that green
onions also known as scallions. It has a little spiciness from that curry and it has a very
nice flavor, just a little bit of heat from that cayenne pepper we added. Alright, give
this one a try.
