Golden Harvesters is a nonprofit that helps low-income Portland residents obtain affordable
food. Founded in 1988, the original members gleaned from the fields of local farms, taking
fruits and vegetables left over after the harvest. 25 years later, Golden Harvesters has evolved
and now offers a wide range of groceries, thanks to recurring donations from local businesses.
Each month, members pay $20 and volunteer for two hours. In return, they take home up
to 50 lbs of food twice a week. Visit Golden Harvesters on Facebook to learn more about
membership or becoming a donor. Welcome to our community.
