Vegan Macaroni and Cheese or Mac and Cheese Recipe!
Hey my Sweet Vs, Its The Sweetest Vegan here and today on the show we will be making a vegan macaroni and cheese
It is going to be so delicious. I can feel it in my soul that this recipe is going to taste so good.
So lets get started.
We are going to start this recipe by cooking 1 pound of pasta
That's a 16 oz box of macaroni elbow noodles.
If you do not know what they are, they should say elbow macaroni
You are going to boil a large pot of water, huge pot of water.
It is about 4 quarts of water in there. Salt the water, add in your pasta.
Give is a quick stir and then cover it.
Let it boil for about 8 - 10 minutes. You do not want to cook it until it is soft, but just until it is al dente.
So while the pasta is cooking, we are going to use our blender to make our yummy yummy cheese sauce
And this part is really really simple. To your blender, you want to add 1 can of drained cannellini beans
nutritional yeast flakes, soy sauce, garlic powder, yellow mustard, pepper, instant mashed potatoes
mixed with water, extra *** olive oil, vegan butter, agave syrup, and tahini.
It is a lot of ingredients but it is going to come out really really yummy.
And then you can use a almond milk to thin it out to the consistency that you like.
So now that you got your cheese sauce all mixed together.
You need to drain your pasta, mix in your cheese sauce, nutritional yeast flakes, and parsley.
Just to give it that green bright color.
So if you are cooking this on a week day or you are in a rush
Then it is fine just the way it is, I can not wait for the taste test
But if you are cooking this recipe on Sunday, or Thanksgiving, or a special celebration dinner.
or a dinner party where you really want to impress people
The thing I remember most about macaroni and cheese is that crust.
You get one of those edges or the top, baked macaroni and cheese is the best
Because you have that crust, cheese, crispy top
So we are going to make that.
What you want to do is melt a little bit of vegan butter in the microwave.
Take is out and mix it with some panko breading and a little bit more nutritional yeast
To give a little bit more of that cheesy flavor.
[sprinkle it on top of the mac and cheese] and stick it in the oven under the broiler. Its already hot so we do not have to
bake it. We just want to crisp up the top.
So now we are finally done with our vegan macaroni and cheese. We are ready for a taste test
And I cannot wait.
