Hey what's up guys, this is David Benjamin from Healthy Wild And Free.com,
today I want to talk about the benefits of chia seeds, as you can see here I have a little
bag of chia seeds.
If you're from the states, you might remember chia pet's, chia pet's actually used chia
seeds to grow little things, but who knew it's a superfood that the mayan and aztec
people ate, so the coolest thing about chia seeds is that you don't actually eat them
whole, you just soak them in water, and when you do that it forms, it kind of turns it
into a jelly, it's very gelatinous, and the benefits of it are quite extraordinary.
They're rich in fiber, rich in omega 3 fats, rich in protein, very mineral rich as well,
and the cool thing about it is that it actually slows down your digestive system so that blood
sugar spikes aren't as common or don't effect you as much, so, blood sugar spikes are main
reason why people put on belly fat, so by consuming chia seeds it slows down that absorption
in the digestive system to reduce those blood sugar spikes, so, beyond that, it's also great
for the body for oxygenating the body and hydrating the body.
so, by letting chia seeds sit in water it actually soaks up water and then when you
consume those it kind of releases that water in your body and helps to oxygenate and hydrate
your body as well so I highly recommend getting chia seeds, i'm down here in Costa Rica and
I use them every once in a while, i'll just throw them in a glass, stir up the seeds,
let it sit for thirty minutes, an hour, and then it's a jelly, jello if you will.
You can drink it straight or you can put it into a recipe, make it into a pudding, do
all sorts of different things with it, so that's it for this video, make sure to check
out chia seeds, i'll put a link below to an article with more information and with a link
where you can pick them up as well.
Thanks a lot for your time, make sure to subscribe to my channel for more videos, have an awesome
rest of the day, bye.
