We're going to show you how you select stitches from the machine. First off, notice that stitches
one, two, three, and all the way up to nine and zero, all have stitches associated with
them. As you push these buttons, you will get that exact stitch.
They put those stitches that you're going to use quite a bit right at your fingertips
here. Sewing on buttons is number nine, doing a button hole is number zero here, but you
notice that up at the top of your machine, you have four rows of stitches. Row one has
a lot of utility stitches, and then you get into row two quilting stitches, so let's show
you how you get to those.
The part that you want, or button that you want is the stitch menu button, the blue button
with the straight and zigzag on it. We will use that a lot as we move around the machine.
When you do that, your stitch menu is going to highlight groups of stitches that is row
one. Right here it says "Utility" and a one in front of it. The arrows on the side of
the machine will move you to say row two, the quilt stitches. Row three are decorative
stitches, and row four are decorative stitches. The last one is with the heart, and it is
called [00:01:13 eye] stitches. This is a great place where you can save your stitches,
save your stitch settings, the menu, the memory, that can all go into that area. So we'll cover
that in another video, and so we can arrow up or arrow over.
So if we want something from row one, we will want to highlight the first utility collection
here, and if I want something, let's say I want stitch number twenty, I need to touch
the keypad quickly: two, zero. Now that is actually a blind hem stitch, tells me to put
a blind hem foot on, and right here I can tell I'm in row one with the semi-colon, and
stitch number twenty, so at any given time it will show you what stitch you're on.
You want to go to a decorative stitch like a blanket stitch, that's in row two, so we're
going to go to row two, and then we actually have three blanket stitches. Try twenty-one.
Two, one. Now here's something that sometimes happens. When you pick a stitch, and by the
way, if you're in row two and you need to go to another stitch in row two, let's go
ahead and do stitch number thirty-four, and if I touch three and four. Now I touched that
kind of slow didn't I, and I got stitch number four, not thirty-four, and I can tell because
up here it says zero four, and also the stitch on the screen is not what I wanted. So just
re-select that stitch again, three, four, and then it will get you to the stitch that
you're going for.
And again, say anything from say the decorative menu, just arrow over, that's row four, let's
do stitch number twenty-eight. Now even though I'm in row four, if I need to get to a straight
stitch, touch stitch number one. The stitches on the keypad are always the same no matter
what row of stitch you have selected. That is always going to be there, so if you need
to get to a zigzag, stitch number five is your zigzag. A triple straight stitch, stitch
number three.
So it's super easy, and you can always turn off the machine and turn it back on, and you'll
be back to a straight stitch.
