Now in order to achieve the very highest outcome for ourselves and our loved ones, it's essential
to get our priorities straight and employ them to dynamically guide our decision making
and commitments henceforth.
It may surprise you to hear from me -- a physician -- that health is NOT the most important blessing
you have in your life. Love is -- the Love you share with God, your family, your friends
and your community.
I consider health to be the second greatest blessing you have in life, for with health
comes the freedom to give fully in the Love you share and to actively participate in the
lives of those who you care for and to carry out your God-given mission here on Earth.
Those of you who have lost the freedom to participate in life the way you want to because
of your current degenerated state know exactly what I'm talking about.
Having been there myself in the past, I can attest that often far worse than the physical
pain and suffering I experienced was witnessing the impact of my condition on those I loved
and not being able to give and actively participate fully in their lives at the level that I wanted
to.
Ultimately, it is Love and health therefore that most greatly contribute to the quality
of life we experience and the quality of the impact our life has on others.
Therefore, investing energy, effort, time and resources into cultivating our Love, devotion
and service to God, our family members, our friends and our community in the time we have
left; AND into regaining our health to maximize our ability to do so are two of the most important
things any of us can ever do.
Life is short. Too few of us really realize this, but to those of us who do, it gives
inspiration to do whatever it takes to make the most of our lives to God's glory.
