Innovation is sort of the hot topic right now at our school as I’m sure it is at a
lot of other schools. So we’ve been trying to get our student body to understand this
idea of failing forward, or understanding that it’s all right to fail, and in fact
it’s a very good thing to fail. As a faculty we’re trying to model that behavior also,
so we’re actually planning something called Fail Forward Friday, where on one Friday all
of the teachers, we’re asking them to come up with something new, try something new in
the classroom. And if they fail and they fall flat on their face that’s perfectly fine;
we want the kids to see that. But we want the innovation not only to come from the kids
but to come from the faculty as well so that the whole school is really innovating and
we move forward as--as a whole community.
