DAN WILSON: A couple of months ago we had what you might call
a "road team."
MALE SPEAKER1: A road team?
DAN WILSON: A couple of guys from the marketing department
decided they were going to set up a network for their own
personal use.
MALE SPEAKER2: Sometimes people want to use a software
program that we don't have resources to support, or they
want to use a newer software version that we haven't
approved yet, or they need more storage
than we can give them.
MALE SPEAKER1: Why is it a problem?
DAN WILSON: Usually it's not until something happens.
FEMALE SPEAKER: Oh, no.
DAN WILSON: Maybe a hack, or uncontrolled access to
sensitive documents.
MALE SPEAKER3: That is not good.
DAN WILSON: What hurts our company the most is loss of
critical data.
[VACUUM]
They managed to lose the Q2 marketing materials.
All the data.
All the plans.
All of it.
They won't be trying that again.
