The burden is so much - of the wrong and the right, both or the difficulty of facing or
the knowledge or the essence that you are carrying of Allahís ayahs. What to do and
what not to do. So many ayahs the essence you are not known, so many ayahs you are not
practicing. So it is becoming a burden. You are not conveying, you a re not practicing.
You are not conveying. So it becomes a burden. So youíre asking that Allah you do not catch
us if we forget or we commit a mistake. O our Lord, do not load a burden on us. Like
you burden on those from before us. O our Lord, do not burden us. With that we do not
have the strength with it. Pardon us. And forgive us. Have mercy on us. You are our
Protector. So help us over the people who reject. We do not have the strength with it.
Pardon us. And forgive us. And have mercy on us. You are our Protector. So help us over
the people who, people who reject. So in this ayat we must understand, this is the way.
Now in this ayat, Allah say, those who call other than Allah. Allah is again telling us,
They can neither harm or benefit, not benefit nor harm. And in this ayah if you note, the
ayat first addresses to the messenger when it speaks in singular. And it says And if
you do this, then surely you will be of those who are oppressors, referring to the Mohammed
(pbuh) first, then the guidance is for us. It says, do not call those other than Allah
who can neither benefit you nor harm you. So if you do this, then surely you will be
of those who are oppressors. So, remember that we think that people can harm us by thinking
that there are black magic going on. You know black magic? Or there are so many magics.
People are saying so many, Indian sub-continent Iím telling you this is problem in Pakistan,
India and in Bangladesh. Mostly this is most problem. So we are afraid by thinking that
there is something going on.. So Allah is telling us they cannot harm you nor they can
benefit, neither they can benefit you. So and if you do this, taking other than Allah
as a Protector, if you do this, then surely you will be one of the oppressors. It is very
clear that nobody can harm you or nor benefit you but you must understand one thing. If
suppose I am sick, I go and see a doctor, a physical doctor, and biologically there
is some problem, and biologically that problem is known to man, for this disease this is
the cure. That disease and the cure is known to man is a natural process given by Allah.
Allah has said, like I drink poison Iíll die. Iíll drink water, nothing happens. You
know, itís a natural. Allah has made such things. So Allah is provided with nourishments
so if you take up the nourishment, you are not going to die . But there are certain diseases
and there are certain cure which is given by Allah in the system. It is prevailing.
And if the doctor has come to know, so it is Allah who is doing it basically. He has
just come to know what medicine is required for medicine. But again the cure is not there
if Allah wills his death. If suppose you have found out that this is the cure of one particular
disease, right, it is established fact, known fact, But still you can ask any doctor what
I am saying - that there are hundreds of people who have been cured for one specific medicine.
But the people are dying in the same very disease with all the medicine provided. So
it is Allah who is curing, who is giving you shifa because his death is not there so he
is alive. But there are so many people who are dying, knowingly that this is the fact
this is the cure. But they are not cured because their, time has come, so it is Allah giving
shifa so neither they can harm you nor can they profit you. It is Allah. If we go and
see a doctor, if we go and see somebody, who give you some medicine, the cure, the shifa,
is Allah is doing it. Because that known science, heís applying it that known science, he has
come to the nature of the healing process of the particular thing. But the cure still
is in the hands of Allah. Otherwise all the medicine go in vain. And the person dies,
knowing fact that this is the cure. So 100 % doctor knows that we know the system but
the real fact is that the shifa in the hands of Allah. He gives cure so remember so no
one can harm you, no one can benefit you until unless it is the will of God. So further it
says, if Allah touches with harm there is no one who can remove it except Him. Heís
making sure continuously - sure- and if intention is for you betterment then there is no one
who can withhold His favor. He reaches with it to whomsoever He wills from His servants,
and He is Forgiving, Merciful. And it is very important that we people, any favor if Allah
intends to do so to anyone of us, there is no person in earth can stop it if He wants
to favor you, intends to give you betterment. Nobody can stop it. He will make sure that
it reaches you and if He intends to harm you, nobody can save you. These are the facts but
still man is so weak he doesnít understand this. Heís still looking for other peopleís
protection. But the real fact remains that, if Allah wills, nothing will happen to you.
No harm. And if Allah wills, benefit, give you benefit. You will get the benefit. No
one can stop it. No one can stop it reaching you, that benefit. You will get it.. So this
ayahs are giving you confidence and a trust in Allah in all aspects. Harm, benefit is
from Allah alone Now this ayah is ofternly quoted by these
people who have become the authority that we are the way, who are saying follow our
path, we are the way, so they say, look the Quraían says, O you who believe, you have
to seek the vasila, there must be some vasila, seek the means to reach God, towards Him,
seek Meaning seek the means towards Him. How can we reach God? Allah. How can we? Seek
the means. You have to find out. What is the means? What is the means or vasila to reach
God? To reach Him? Towards Him? What is the means? Sorry? Prayer. What do we pray? Do
we say in the prayers? No, what? Can I pray, O God.? I want to get first division in my
class. Is this what youíre saying? Then? Okay. We recite the Quraíanic ayaat. Thank
you. It is the Quraíanic ayaat, it is the ayahs that are the means towards reaching
God. Right? It is who? It is not your word, it is Allahís ayahs, revealed by Allah to
the messengers. Mohammed Rasoolallah is the Seal of the Prophets and all the messengers.
So the means is, seeking the means is Quraían. Vasila is the Quraían, that through the Quraíanic
ayaat and its understanding and the essence of the ayahs you can reach Him. So we have
to seek the means, means we have to read the Quraían with understanding as we are reading
it today now. We have to take guidance from these ayahs. This is the means of reaching
Him, towards Him. That is the means. If we do not know and if even we in prayers, what
are we praying in the ayah, in the salah is the ayahs? And we must - remember if you want
to, look, there is a particular situation in my life. Iím in a fix. I want to take
guidance. I look and search in the Quraían. There are many, many situations in life a
man can counter. If I know a particular situation, then I know, must know the particular relevant
ayaat. So I memorize that relevant ayaat and then I pray in the salah/the prayer. That
relevant ayaat and bow down and prostrate on that relevant ayat and practice in my life.
That would become the means towards Him. But normally itís not practiced. Itís just a
memorization of my childhood, certain verses or Surahs of the last, Quraíaniíic last
Surahs. You know (Arabic text) Some certain in the very childhood IÖwas asked to memorize
these verses so I recite only those verses without knowing what they mean. My particular
situationís something else. So I must try to remember or learn those ayahs of those
verses that is the means, that would become the means to reach Him. So in this ayah we
have come to know. What is the vasila? Is the Qurtaían. The Quraían is the vasila.
And now, this word vasila has occurred two places. This is this ayat and another place
I read and weíll see
what happens. Now Allah
is asking that there are people who are calling other than Allah. Allah says, say, call on
those whom you claim other than Allah, they have no power to remove your harm from you
and not to change them. We have already discussed so many times two-three verses .that nobody
can harm you or nobody can benefit you - except Allah. So Allah said, to whom you claim they
can do that, call unto them and they cannot remove your harm or not change your condition
This is theÖBut further if you read, those whom they call, they are seeking the means
towards their Lord Vasilat or vasila. They are those whom they call, they are themselves
are seeking the means towards their Lord. So people are thinking that this person is
the right person for my vasila to God, XYZ. Any person. People in the world think that
any person, XYZ, is the rright person for my vasila. He will become my vasila. So Allah
is telling about that person whom that person is thinking that heís the vasila. So He says
those who, that who are the mostÖnoÖThey are seeking the means towards AllahÖthey
are the ones ,most closest ones. And they hope of His mercy and fear His punishment.
So those people whom people are thinking, they are the vasila, they are the people who
are thinking that they are the vasila, these people themselves are seeking towards their
Lord. They are seeking the means towards their Lord that who are the most closest ones. Suppose
I give an example to you, suppose you people saying that I am the person, that I am close
to God, I am the means to you to the Quraían - suppose. Just giving you an example. So
Allah is telling about that person that this person is also seeking the means. He himself
is looking in the Quraían that who are the closest people to God. Who are the closest?
(Arabic text) Who are closest ones. And all, we all know, the most closest people are the
messengers of Allah. Who are the people? (Arabic text) The most closest people to Allah is
the, are the messengers. Because we have to follow Allah and the messengers. So they are
the closest ones. So if you look upon any person in the world, he himself is seeking
who are the closest ones to Allah, anybody in the world whom we people think this person
is close to Allah, we must find out what is he seeking? What is he seeking? What means
heís looking for? So that person, according to the ayat, Allah is saying, they, that that
person, he himself is seeking the means towards the Lord, that who are close to God. And we
know for sure that all the messengers are close to God. So if we people are pondering
on the ayahs of Allah, on the Quraíanic ayahs, we come to know that the messengers are close
to God, that the messengers are near to God. So we people have to seek means and follow
the messengers, not the person. We have to follow the messengers. So those whom they
call, they are seeking the means towards their Lord that who are the most close ones. And
these people hope of , for His mercy and fear the punishment. . Surely the punishment of
your Lord is something to be cautious of. So in these two verses, remember this verse
was that, O you who believe, you seek the means or you seek the vasila, you look for
the vasila and we come to know the vasila is the Quraían. And if suppose there are
various people in the world who are teaching the Quraían, right? So we go to this person.
So you must understand, that person must, according to this ayah, he himself is not
the vasila, he himself is looking into the Quraían who are most near to Allah. If Iím
reading the Quraían, Iím not the vasila, Iím looking to the Quraían whoa re the most
near ones to Allah. They are the, Iím also looking so I will follow the, so similarly
if you are looking at me, you must look at the Quraían. And in the Quraían, you must
look who are the most near ones to Allah. And we all know those near ones are the messengers
of Allah. Not the names that are not in the Quraían. If you think that they are the closes
ones to Allah, then these are your concoction. Anyone, any name that comes in your mind and
if itís not mentioned the Quraían, it is the name youíll opt for. That he are, heís
close to God. It is Allah heís telling in the Quraían if you look at, if you read the
ayahs, Allah say you follow the messenger. That means Allah is telling His clearly, distinctly,
that if you follow the messenger, youíre on the right path. So we know that all the
messenger that are sent from Allah and the prophets are the closest ones and we have
to follow them. The Book is the vasila and in that Book. We come to know the Quraían,
in that Book, we come to know that the messengers and the prophets are the closes ones to Allah
so we have to follow them to take guidance. So this is the only two places the vasila
has occurred. But normally people quote that verse. Then we have to look at the vasila
to find out the vasila and then they point this person is the vasila., XYZ. So people
go to that person and say you are the vasila, there must be a vasila, we understand, the
vasila is the Quraían. Through me, if you come here, listen to the Quraían, you may
listen to me. But if Iím pointing ayat, a relevant ayat in the Quraía, you are backing,
youíre going back to the ayahs. Through me youíre going to the source. So Quraían becomes
the vasila. I may be a pointer to the ayaat. If so, nobody talks about ayahs. Nobody says
anything and say Iím the vasila.. And you donít have to do anything. I will take the
current and the burden and your faults. You donít have to look into the Book. The you
must know what heís doing. So that is also Allah has exposed. So these people who are
righteous, they themselves are seeking in the Quraían who are the closest ones. And
we know all the messenger are close to God. Now in this ayah, Allah is saying those whom
they call other than Allah, they have created nothing, they are created beings themselves,
they are dead, without life and they are not aware when they will be raised. You know,
first of all you must understand, Allah has said that they have not created anything.
We see in the world, man has created many things, created buildings, cameras, planes,
you know, computer, all we have done is found how it works, we have not created, we have
found out how it works. You follow what Iím saying., how an eye can see this. They made
a camera out of it. The principle was known Allahís nature, by the eye. So Allah is the
creator of all things. The people are just finding out the nature or the system, how
it works. You say a test-tube baby, a baby is born. No. The *** in the ovum is created
by Allah. You found out how it is joined. Anything you see is no scientist has created
anything in the world,. They have all found out how the principle works. They have discovered.
The right word. They have discovered, found out keh bhai this is the way. But the nature
as such it is being done by God, Allah, it is Allah who has made the system. Heís the
creator. We have found out things. So Allah says they have not created anything, to whom
you are calling. You must call Allah for guidance, you are calling on them, they have not created
anything. That is what it says, those whom they call other than Allah, they have not
created anything, they are themselves created beings. They arew dead, without life. And
they are not aware when they will be raised. So even if they are the people who are dead,
you know, dead means dead, dead means dead in the graves, so if you are going and asking
them, so Allah is calling them, maybe in their life they must be nice good people, they must
be following Allah and His messenger but once they are dead, they are dead. So look, further
I will read and then discuss
People who are deadÖAllah first says that life and death, they are not equal (Arabic
text) And those who are alive and those who are dead are not equal. And before I read
Dead they are not alive. So we must know what is life and what is death. There are two different
people, different surroundings. Once a person is alive and once heís dead. So once heís
dead Allah says You cannot make them listen who are in the graves. Who are in the graves,
can you make them listen? No. People are going to the grave and asking to the grave, the
person who is supposed to be in the greave, whether heís in the grave or not, we donít
know for sure. You know, we are not even sure that in that grave who is there. There are
many graves in the world, of people, are you sure that whoís in the grave? Suppose we
say this XYZ is in that grave. You know, the amazing thing Iíve noticed that, in this
lifetime, people cannot find out the behavior of any individual, even the closest ones - my
mother or father or my wife and my children are the most nearest ones to me. They cannot
even be exactly sure what type of a person I am. Even my good companions or friends of
me cannot exactly describe me in the true sense. So an individual cannot be described
by anybody but now we come to know after so many years that hundreds of years back there
was a one man who was a very nice and pious man. He has spent his whole life. We are talking
his, about his life, Allah is not talking about them. Allah is not talking about them.
It is we who are describing the minute details of XYZ, thinking that they are near to God
Theyíve attained the bliss in this world. . Allah is not describing about them. It is
we are describing about them. Day and night they spend their lives for Allahís closeness
and everything so now they have reached Godís good pleasure and they can remove our hurts
and our bad feelings or whatever. They can do whatever they can do. But once they have
died, according to this ayat, Allah say, you cannot make them listen who are in the graves.
So what we are going there and talking to them and asking them to do certain things
for me because they are close. They a re dead, first of all. They are not alive. So this
is very clear ayat. The people are going to the graves of various people and thinking
and talking to them and thinking that they will help. How can they? This ayah says no.
It says very And those who are alive and those who are dead are not equal. Surely Allah can
make anyone who listens to whom He wills. And you, the first Anta in Arabic means that
ëand youí means singular, messenger you cannot make them listen who are in the grave.
It is referring to the messenger first of all, that those who are in the grave, even
the messenger cannot make them listen. Why? Because once he was alive and he was talking
to the living people in his time, the living people listened to the ayat of Mohammed Rasooalallah
or Allahís ayahs that were revealed to Mohammed Rasoolallah and majority of them rejected.
And they were revealed in Arabic. They spoke Arabic language. The majority of the Arabs
alive at that time he was there, only very few, few, few little people believed in Mohammed
Rasoolallah, in his lifetime. How can you expect in a grave, even Allah says to the
messenger, you cannot make them listen who are in the grave. Iím talking about lifetime,
that Mohammed Rasoolallah in his lifetime was not able to make sure that the majority
of the people would listen to Mohammed Rasoolallah in his lifetime. How many believers he made
in his lifetime? Because the guidance is from Allah alone because Allah knows hearts and
minds of various people. So how can you expect that in the grave he make them listen. No,
Mohammed Rasoolallah cannot also., those who are in raves. And how can we expect when he
cannot make them listen, hopw can we expect that they will listen our call? When Mohammed
Rasoolallah in his lifetime was not able to, when he was alive or people were around and
he was conveying this message and majority of them rejected. In Arabic - direct. Arabic
language, itís not the matter of language, it is matter of belief. People have ideologies
about Arabic language. Not the Arabic. Because there are still today the Jews Arabs, there
are still today the Christian Arabs, there are still today the atheist Arabs or the agnostic
Arabs. Arabs are people, human beings. It is not language that makes you understand
the essence of the message of Allah, it is the belief. Remember it is the belief that
makes you understand, it is not the language that giving you the benefit that I can speak
Arabic and understand the Quraían. No. Otherwise the whole Arab world would been Muslims and
believers. There are so many Arabs they are not believers. They are rejecters, they are
atheists. So look, here it says that you cannot make anybody listen Remember, the guidance
is from Allah. Mohammed Rasoolallah was asked, again and again the ayatat, you deliver the
message, it is for Us to guide. It is for Us to guide. It is for you to deliver the
message. And the message was delivered by him. And Allah guided very few little people
in all times. In all times. If you read the Quraían, if you, again and again all the
messengers are delivering the message and most of the messengers, you cannot sure there
was, nobody can show me any verse from the Quraían that a messenger sent by Allah to
the people and majority of people not listening to his call, to the call of any messenger.
It was always they rejected him. They belied him, they killed him, the messengers, their
personality was killed. They were rejected totally. So this, you know, hallucination
that, you know, messenger can make - of course, the miracles they can do - but the fact remains
they cannot guide people, even the Nuh (pbuh), Luth (pbuh) is the messengers of Allah was
not able to guide their own wives. Or Nuh (pbuh) was not able to guide the son. Ibraheem
(pbuh) was not able to guide his father. No, there are examples so how can in the graves
you expect the messenger will listen? Or he will make people listen. It says you cannot.
You cannot make them listen who are in the grave.. Graves and in real time you cannot
make them listen who are dead. It is Allah who always make people to listen. He knows
the hearts and minds of people. Even in the graves Allah can make them listen or otherwise
as such. Allah can make people listen whom He wills. He knows the hearts and minds of
the people who are, who intends to take guidance from Allahís ayahs. He make them listen.
Now, people thinkÖpeople think or have taken into account that they can take Allahís servants
as aulia/protectors other than Allah. You see, when you remember the word that means
you are holding fast or you are taking, you are not following,
