Joe lotta is the republican nominee
for mayor of New York City but he's a little bit in trouble
because there's only a forty four point gap between him and Bill de Blasio in
the polls
%uh and I mean age almost like a joke at this point
the blog you're gonna win there's in bar some sort of miracle for loader
abut listen too low to you on Morning Joe
but he absolutely makes a fool of himself here
on its praised the deal with falls back to when asked the question about
anything it always falls back to it's a tale of two cities.
there's nothing more divisive than saying we are two cities
whether it's rich versus poor black versus white young versus all
he is dividing the city by his core theme
and the reality is the reason why have the San when you look at the most recent
Sienna college ball put up by the New York Times
there's a wide gap between where I am in my opponent is then look at the issues
the majority of new yorkers agree with me on all of the issues
um I needed to happen and that woke everybody up because
everything being the is all about Blasio DiBlasio you
not about me as I want to get the message that you do see wealth
inequality in
in New York City is a problem wealth inequality in by many qualities the
problem here is the only way they want it
he relies on talking about them yeah and he has no way
dealing with it was divisive to talk about inequality beneath think it's a
problem tear
no I don't think it's a problem I he said does it exist it exists I don't
think it's a problem I don't think it's a problem
did exist insert foot directly in mouth
no but that's awesome cuz if you read the transcript or you can go back and
listen again
he said incoming call the is a problem and then when
this time cause I'm out you know your eyes as Rama said the
said exist and not a problem it did not a prominent exists
okay number one you just completely contradicted yourself
you did say was a problem and now you're saying it's not a problem in just that
it exists
number two this guy is representing what a lot of republicans actually believe me
there are a lot of republicans who say yeah income inequality exists
enjoying or there's only go further and say it's a good thing
now let me be a clear here because the
yeah after it gets specific when you talk about things like this
someone to love income inequality of course make sense
because I mean when you gonna have a system where you know
the CEO of the mega corporation who might work
I don't know 70 hours 60 hours a week or something like that
that dude should be making the same amount of money as
a part-time worker a who washes cars
I mean obviously yes there's some level of income inequality that make sense
and yes the harder you work it should be me you make
up more money we have to do it within the boundaries in
you can't you know have somebody working a full-time job
and not even have a living wage if they work a full time job they shouldn't have
to run over to
you know medicaid engine have to get welfare food stamps
because they're actually working they should be rewarded for their work at
least a bar where the gavel living wage
you probably acted as you probably know even get better than a living wage if
they're working a full-time job they should be lower
some vacation time and not have to worry about you know lose all their money here
just not being able to take vacation time but to save it income inequality
not a big deal already exist but his aides who cares
I mean listen to this the richest 1 percent
in america have more financial wealth
so that's like a net worth right like so all your assets together all your car's
all year
you know your house is your yachts in these guys cases
so the richest 1 percent have more financial well then the bottom 95
percent
combine ain't 1 percent more financial wealth than the bottom 95 percent
combine
that blows your mind doesn't and the reality is
it about fifty percent of the American people they don't have
any money saved up they don't have any network they probably a
actually have net debt so
1 percent has been more all of us but more
quote just 400 Americans have more wealth than half
overall Americans combining 400 Americans
have more wealth then 15 percent all Americans
that is insanity man again
there is a level of income inequality that is fine that make sense in that
everybody can agree to
by the way when you look at the polls the american people that is their
opinion they say hey this is how the wealth
should be distributed where of course there's people who are rich they have
more then it goes down
the pay scale but this is why we had a whack
this is like it a ruling elite is like a kleptocracy or an oligarchy
