Topic today is altar. If we sang this the Holy Song 10 times, it could be already a great Sunday Service.
(Technical issue)
Last Sunday I got a feeling that I should talk about altar. In Japanese CSG, the word “altar” appear 60 times. Probably English and Swedish CSG have this amount, too. Actually they have little bit less.
It shows that altar is an important thing in life of faith. There are many kinds of altars depend on religions. There are Buddhist altar, Catholic altar etc. We have our altar. This is the altar for the Day of All Thing. This is our altar. This is the altar in Cheongpyeong.
As I have said there are many kinds of altars. It seems like that are not friends to each other. If you have a Christian altar, you do not have a Buddhist altar. But it is not like this in Japan. In Japan we apply simple mathematics. 1+1 = 2. If a Buddhist altar brings us a happiness, we count 1. If Shinto-altar brings us a happiness, we count 1. Therefore if have both of them, we have two happiness.
When I joined to UC in Japan, I wanted to have our altar at my home. There was no problem with my mother, for we would get one more happiness and all together we would have 3. This is how it works. True Father uses the same logic, I would say. When we have international blessings, we receive benedictions from Christian priest, Busshist monk, American Indian religious leader etc.
Concerning about altars, according to Divine Principle, first of all, on an altar we have cut offerings into two, namely, into good side and evil side. We have learned in the lecture of life of faith that to go to the altar means to cut ourselves into two symbolically. This is the place where we decide to which side we belong, to good side or evil side.
We have to cut our heart into two and decide to which side we belong. Do you remember what True Father has said about one of the reasons why Jude could not accept Jesus. When they offered sacrifices they neglected to cut their heart into two. They did it just for the sake of ritual. 00:07:02,00 --> 00:07:59,70 They should have thought like this. When I cut this animal into two, this animal is in fact I myself. I am a mixture of good and evil. It means that I must be divided into two. But If I did so, I would die. Therefore I use this animal in my place. This is the logic. We should not do offering just for the ritual. We should do it with heart. But Judith people did not think in this way. Therefore they failed.
(Explanation of Chinese letters for altar)
And now I need some helps. I can do. OK.
Thank you. What is the meaning of Bloody Altar in this text?
Probably the offers that Christianity has made.
Is Blood here symbolic or real?
Probably both.
Specially in the beginning.
Have you more to say? I think also that blood means real blood as well. Their sufferings and scarifies must bring a fruit in this age. We must work for it.
Next. Johan?
Thank you. There are some notes. “Prepare” means here “take aim to a target” in the Korean CSG. Johan, What is the alter of love?
In my experiences it is not just DP that changed me but love from brothers and sisters. It is not just intellectual practice. It should be obvious and real.
Next. We need a 2nd gen to read this text.
Thank you. What is the meaning of altar here?
Is this altar invisible? Is this also visible? Pure Love and True Love are the altar. We have to keep them.
Next. Jan-Peter.
What is the altar?
It looks like everything. When everything is one, we can offer them to God.
Everything what we do is with the altar. Our life is public. Even in our sex life, it has a universal meaning, namely, unification of heaven and earth. Thank you.
Akemi chan. There is no need for translation. English texts are on the PowerPoint as well. (A copy of all quotations is delivered to two ladies who need translation.)
What is the altar of UC?
It is what we offer to True Parents, that we understand.
It is very important, isn’t it? Thank you.
The alter is the church itself or the podium. The one who stands here must feel serious and prepare well.
This one must be in Swedish. This part is not well translated in English CSG.
What is the family altar?
Trivial Messiah. Have you more to say?
The number for the trivial Messiah here is 360. We have now new trivial Messiah. Its number is 430. When we had the number 360, this number did not include our families and relatives. It is DP that before we can love our won people, we should have love other people first. This new number 430 includes our families and relatives.
This part follows the previous one.
You should read this in Swedish. It is not enough translated in English CSG.
Thank you. Is the blood here symbol or real? What is the altar of blood?
It is everything. Life, Love etc. We should not forget the difficult history behind our church.
Here it is said about false religion. Actually it does not mean like this. It means in fact “fallen”. It does not mean corruption. If we read the text before his quotation, we will understand that religions until now have not had any right to give blessing of marriage to people. Because they have been in the fallen realm.
Fallen religions do not mean religions are corrupted. There must be better translation. It does not mean that these religions are bad. Because of True Parents it is now allowed for us to get out from this old realm so that we can receive the blessing.
Thank you that you helped me a lot today. I hope that it is something giving. My conclusion today is that we should have something with us when we come to God. It is not good to be empty hand.
There are three stages of offerings. The first one is to offer things or money. The second stage is to offer labor or doing some activities. The third stage is to offer our heart that is what God really wants. Thank you very much.
