Wheatstone's Dimension One is based on our Network First design concept. It's a truly
interactive, networked audio console, not merely a console attached to a router.
Dimension One's audio network is built from modular I/O frames connected via cat-5 or
fiber. The frames carry I/O cards selected for your needs. Cards include analog line,
analog mic, AES digital, MADI, and HD SDI. The network can put more than three thousand
inputs at the operator's fingertips in real time.
The Dimension One control surface is modular and compact, and connects to the network by
cat-5 or fiber. There are 16 true audio groups, and two stereo and two 5.1 program busses.
Up to 36 paged channel strips can be installed. That's a total of 72 simultaneous sources,
each of which can be mono, stereo, or 5.1. Individually tailored EQ and Dynamics are
available on every channel, every group, and every program bus -- simultaneously! Dedicated
controls make adjustment easy and intuitive, and graphic displays keep the operator fully
informed. Programmable delay can be applied to any input,
group, or bus, allowing lip sync correction on the fly as well as fixed monitor wall delays.
Delay can be adjusted in either frames or milliseconds.
Dimension One has 99 show presets which can save all of the console's addressable parameters,
including source selection, EQ and dynamics settings, bus assignments, aux sends and mix-minuses.
There are 16 dedicated mix-minus busses with confidence feed switching, but every channel
on the Dimension One can also generate its own mix-minus feed, complete with level control
and IFB. This simplifies setup and greatly increases the number of IFB feeds available.
Panel discussions consume a great deal of an operator's attention. Dimension One's standard
Automatic Mic Mixing can help with that. When it's on, the console automatically manages
microphone levels. Our exclusive priority feature lets the host interrupt at any time.
Another standard feature, Audio-Follow-Video, can also decrease workload and increase accuracy.
It allows the console to automatically crossfade sources based on control signals from a video
switcher or edit controller. Because audio and DSP are in rack units, not
inside the control surface, maintenance is easy. I/O cards are hot-swappable and front-panel
accessible. The control surface also features hot-swappable
modules and requires no rear-panel maintenance access.
Dimension One is powered by Wheatstone's remarkable Gibraltar DSP engine, capable of handling
over 1,000 channels of digital signal processing. Our networked design allows for a fully redundant
signal path including the network switch, I/O, power, and DSP.
