Despite an initial target of early 2013, Capcom has announced that Lost Planet 3 will hit
Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC on June 25th in North America and June 28th in Europe.
The news comes alongside a bevy of new info for the game, including a batch of new screenshots
and the box art, which you can see here.
Capcom also showed off a new trailer, revealing that main character Jim Peyton will encounter
a group known as the Snow Pirates on planet E.D.N. III and will form a unique bond with
one in particular.
According to an official game description, quote: “while under attack from E.D.N. III’s
indigenous Akrid, Jim’s Utility Rig falls down an icy fissure, leaving him unconscious
and injured.
“Jim wakes to find himself in what appears to be a secret base, hidden beneath the planet’s
frozen surface. He was rescued by one of the base’s inhabitants, Mira, the daughter of
the Snow Pirate leader. With this encounter with the Snow Pirates, new truths about the
foreboding planet and the colonial history are set to be unveiled.”
What do we think? It seems like Capcom is going for a Dead Space 3 vibe.
