Hi, I'm Jennifer Cail. On behalf of Expert Village, I'm going to show you how to make
these delicious maple yule log cookies. Now that we have all our yule logs cut out on
our cookie sheet, notice if you use a large enough cookie sheet they will all fit on the
same one. It's time to stick it in the oven. You want to put it in at 375 degrees and we
are going to leave that in there for about 7-8 minutes. We want to check at that point
and make sure that they are not getting too brown because the cookies are already a darker
color dough you have to be careful about that. We are going to set the timer for 7 minutes
and then we will come back in 7 minutes and see how the cookies are doing. Our cookies
have been in the oven for about 8 minutes. Now let's check them out; the maple smell
is fantastic. You can see that they are nice and brown on top and they are a little bit
soft but firm. They will push in a little bit but you are not going to leave a fingerprint
behind, be careful not to touch the pan and you can see on the bottom, they are just a
touch of brown. We are going to let them cool in the pan for a minute or two before removing
them and putting them on a cookie sheet. It's important before you frost them to let them
cool completely so that the frosting doesn't melt. So let's leave them here and then we'll
go work on our frosting which is our next step.
