>>[Alexia] I was extremely surprised that it would be me
chosen out of everyone, well quite excited really.
I absolutely love Narnia, it’s one of my favourite books,
I just love the idea of opening a wardrobe and then finding yourself in another world.
It’s an excellent way to picture the world of reading really.
I love Talking Books because obviously not every book is possible to get into braille whereas with Talking Books it’s much much easier.
When I hear them, especially when it’s written in the first person,
it sounds as if the main character’s actually next to me talking to me
about his or her adventures.
>>[Alexia’s Mother] Without RNIB,
Alexia’s world of reading would not have been what it is today
thanks to the audio books and all the books that are in existence in braille,
but of course not enough of them and she manages to compensate through that
with the audio books.
>>[Alexia] I just want to say a big thank you to everyone who volunteers to read audio books out of the goodness of their heart really
and to all the writers who accept their books to be published into audio books.
RNIB’s a brilliant organization and they’re finding it difficult to get enough books into braille
so donate as much as possible and just think of it as a good cause.
