Hi, I'm James, Computer Hardware Training Coordinator for InterConnection, and I can
show you how to buy a printer cable. Now, when you buy a printer, or you're given one,
well you're not going to have a cable for it. If you buy it brand new you probably will,
but if you have a old printer that someone gave you, or you just lose your printer cable,
you're going to need to get a new one. Now a lot of printers they'll have multiple connectors.
This one right here has a USB connector and your good old-fashioned parallel connector.
When you get your new printer cable you're going to make sure it fits your printer and
it fits your computer, which means one end is going to have to go to your printer; one's
going to have to go to your computer. Now, if you're like this guy you have two different
connectors. Pick either connector, and make sure you get a cable that fits it like so.
And then you have the other end. Make sure you have a port for it on your computer. One
thing to keep in mind when you're buying these printer cables is they're really simple cables.
There are some stores out there that sell, you know, gold-plated, or anything like that,
they'll sell em' for thirty dollars, forty dollars. They're really a simple device, and
probably shouldn't cost too much more than ten dollars, so make sure when you find one
you're paying the right price and you're getting the right connector. I'm James, and that was
how to buy a printer cable.
