Dome Printing is located in Sacramento, California. We're a second-generation commercial printing
company. HP technology we started about 3 and a half years ago with the HP 5500s, and
what we found was, being a commercial printing company, we needed a product that would rival
our sheet fed and web printing technology. We did not want our customers to be able to
distinguish what came from where. So, HP was a clear winner in delivering that type of
print quality. The 7500s, well, let me back up a little bit, with the 5500s we were hitting
peak volumes and we weren't able to really get over some of those peak areas very efficiently.
This was replacing two with two: the 7500s pretty much doubled our production virtually
overnight. You know, nobody has a crystal ball, but we do know that change has been
happening for some time. How we evolve and what we're going to look like in 10 years
I don't have a clue, I just know it will be different. We look different today than we
did 10 year ago. What sets us apart and gives us a deliverable is the variable substrates,
the cover weights, the proofing, the variable product offerings that we're able to do on
one device is incredible. Well, HP has a critical role in helping not only us but all printers
really to automate the processes, make it easy for our clients to do business with us.
And to do that the tools have to be there to efficiently deliver a quality product.
That's really what we look to HP for. We also look for HP to continue building their brand
much like we do with many of our other manufacturers. We're not selling a printed piece, we're selling
brands, we're selling memories, we're selling products and I'm happy to, you know, put that
banner up and say this is printed on an HP and I want our clients to know that means
something.
