Today we ill make Besan spinach Chila.
Besan spinach Chila is very tasty and nutritious too.
You can make in for breakfast or during evening time for snacks.
You can also give your children Besan spinach Chila for their tiffin.
They will like it a lot.
Let’s start making Besan spinach Chila.
Gram flour (besan) - 1 cup.
Spinach (chopped) - 1 cup.
Oil - 2-3 tbsp.
Green chillies - 1-2 (minced)
Ginger paste - 1 tsp (1/2 inch grated)
Carom seeds - half of ¼ tsp.
Red chilly powder - half of ¼ tsp.
Salt - ½ tsp (according to your taste)
Firstly we will make a batter of gram flour.
Add a little water simultaneously, and make a smooth batter.
If you add a lot of water at the time, it will be hard to remove lumps.
It’s hard to make a smooth batter out of the gram flour.
The water can also be more sometimes, and the batter can be thin.
We have made a mooth batter of gram flour, now add the spices.
Add green chillies.
Ginger paste.
Crushed carom seeds.
Red chilly powder and salt.
Mix everything together nicely.
Now add the chopped spinach and mix it.
The batter is ready now.
Don’t make the batter too thick or too thin.
Keep aside the batter for 10-15 min to become fluffy.
It took ¾ cup water to make this much batter.
Heat the pan, to make besan spinach chila.
Then add a little oil in the pan.
Spread the oil with a napkin paper.
Make the pan smooth.
Dim the flame.
When you are spreading the chila, don’t let the pan be too hot.
Let it cool, a bit!
Add 2-3 tbsp batter and spread a thin layer of chila.
We have minced the spinach.
You can also grind the spinach and make a puree of it.
And you can mix the puree in the gram flour.
We have spread the chila.
Now add a little oil, on the sides and upon the chila.
Add some oil on top of the chila.
Make the chila golden brown from the bottom.
You can check, that how much the chila has cooked from the bottom.
Since, it is not cooked properly from the bottom.
So we will cook it more.
Now flip it, since it has turned light brown.
Put some oil on the chila, if you don’t want to consume so much oil then don’t use it.
Make the chila golden brown on both the sides.
Chila is brown from both the sides.
Take it out from the pan in a plate.
To make the second chila, dim the flame.
Clean the pan with a napkin, and let the pan cool.
If you use lightly heated pan, it is easier to spread the chila.
Besan spinach chila is ready now.
They’ve come out really nice!
You can serve it with curd, coriander chutney, fresh mint chutney or with pickles.
